A Palestinian girls' high school near Hebron nearly had its US funding cut, after the State Department learned it had renamed itself after a terrorist, sources said.
The Haj Issa school had recently decided to call itself the Dalal Mughrabi school. Mughrabi is a female terrorist who took part in the killing of 36 Israelis and one US citizen in 1978.
The school is receiving thousands of dollars in funding for renovation from the US Agency for International Development (USAID) via ANERA (American Near East Refugee Aid), a non-governmental organization.
Palestinian Media Watch, a Web site that tracks the Palestinian press, first published an item about the name change last week. The State Department, after being alerted to the name change, promised to terminate aid to the school if it did not change the name back, sources in Washington said.
Neither USAID nor ANERA was informed after the school decided to name itself after Mughrabi. An official at ANERA confirmed the name had been changed back.
"They changed the name back. So there's no issue anymore. The US embassy has been made aware of it," Philip Davies, vice president of ANERA said.
One source in Washington said the State Department had responded quickly.
"What surprised me was how quickly they made a policy decision that they were not going to do the funding," the source said.

Why are my tax dollars funding Palestinians schools which make Hitler's Youth Movement look tame in comparison?

What surprises me, is why anyone believes them
or continues to appease these terrorists.
They lie, and have murdered for more than 30 years,
including Americans and Israelis, and continue to be protected.
Arab terrorists murder Israeli Olympic Team in Munich in 1972.

Wow, that's really taking a stand.
How about not funding the "terrorist in training" schools AT ALL? Let their radical Islamic brethern fund them, not us.

You can call it Lucille, dress it up in pink and put jewelry on it, but if it's a pig, it's a pig.
To name it for a terrorist tells you something. What are they teaching?

The Federal Government, is us. As long as voters continue to return these Liberal congressmen to office, they will keep pushing their feel good policies... results don't matter to them.

I don't understand why we give Palestine half a million a year, then give them support through the United Nations that comes to 30% of their welfare state. We have no business funding terrorist, and no Palestinian is "innocent", they fit the definition of funding, supporting, hiding, and feeding terrorists, so therefore they are all terrorists.

The problem is the part of the gov. I could claim some responsibilty for, (i.e. voting), proves me to be something of a sap....wasted vote. I can vote for a candidate who reflects my general thinking about things that matter to me, only to find out the now elected official was just lying for the sake of getting my vote.
Therein lies the rub....

"Why are our tax dollars funding terrorist schools?" Hey, no-one cares, it's just YOUR money anyway.

Yes, we did it.
Let's hope they will check where their money goes to from now on.
For a better tomorrow!
