ALERT - Georgia State Civil Emergency Declared Until After 2am - No Details Given.

TV just stated that we were to turn to channel 10. Channel 10 states that Georgia state is under civil emergency until after 2am.

Police knew nothing about it, and they gave me the non-emergency 911 number. Called them, and they said they're being deluged, and they have no details. They only know it's been declared, but they don't know why.

It's Saturday Night, 911 is always "swamped".....Not that I doubt your veracity but the claim cannot be verified independently.....Not one local news station, not any local radio station, Not any national television news station nor the emergency radio network for the state of Georgia.
Provide some link, station broadcast etc. that can be verified or put on your asbestos shorts, it's going to get warm on this thread....

Thanks. It just amazes me that a civil emergency warning can go out, and the police know nothing about it. The 911 people are aware that it exists, but don't know why. Seems like the system's a little broken.

You know what, I don't need this grief. I try to bring something that is a potential emergency to the attention of everyone, and all I catch is crap. I'm going to go upstairs, call the non-emergency number again, and I'll see what's going on. And when I find out, I'm keeping it to myself.

WGST reported a few minutes ago it was an error. Should have been an apb in middle ga for a missing fla child, some one coded wrong.

Thanks man...finally some sanity on this thread. "Georgia State" or "State of Georgia"...calling 911. What the "f" is everyone talking about on this thread. I've heard more cogent thought processes from a group of kindergarten kids. I live in Georgia and everything's fine so far. Sleep tight!

911 said that the alert went out because a missing child in central Georgia had been spotted. The went to put out the feed, and it got dropped before they finished the communication. Everyone can rest easy.
