I haven't read everything, but I've read enough to know that joeeveryman isn't acting like much of a man at all. His methods are, at the least, questionable. What blows my mind about the whole situation is that any one person could have committed the fraud that commonsense (how ironic that apparently she had none) alledgedly committed, and be free to perpetrate it once more!

The scales of justice are tipping heavily on the side of injustice, and as long as democrats are in office they will tip further!And that is merely one more reason to freep on!

Jim, there are so many who would pervert a good thing into their thing. It reminds me of the character who founded the Mormons. He was a Free Mason who tried to turn the organization into a religion, so they threw him out. He went on to take the rituals of Free Masonry and base the Mormon "Secret" Rituals on them. Masons are still paying the price for that.

Rest assured that I, for what it is worth, and there are plenty of folks on here who will afirm that it isn't worth a tinker's damn, will honor your request and support you in any way that I can. We have a great thing going here and I don't want to see some marginal personalities wreck it.

Jim I am very sorry to hear about this trouble. I haven't always been a model Freeper but I think FreeRepublic is the greatest conservative site on the web. I support you and know you are a stand up guy. Any problems I may have had I brought on myself. You are the greatest. Thanks for all your support. You have been a good role model for us all.

I've seem this silliness in so many walks of life. At the PTA, the Soccer Club, the Church. The list goes on. People will throw themselves into something with great gusto, usually thinking that they're doing everybody a big favor. They'll take upon themselves the task of bossing around others or seeking some quasi-leadership role and will gradually assume airs.

Then something will happen. Somebody will tell them to butt-out or back off, or something won't go the way they want it. Poof!!! The next thing you know they've joined the club or church down the road and are telling anyone who will listen what a bunch of creeps they all are in the other place.

Ah well. Life goes on. Sometimes the need to be somebody is taken a little far. This is, after all is said and done, just an internet site as others have already pointed out.

One thing I've recognized from day 1 is that this is your site and not mine. That's part of what believing in free enterprise means. I can appreciate something that is owned by someone else.

The problem comes if someone were to begin to get "attached" to the site as if it were ITSELF a form of democracy, rather than a site owned by someone else that supports a conservative, democratic republic. These folks would come to believe that they, for some odd reason, SHOULD have a say and an equal vote in how things are decided at FR.

That's as illogical as thinking I SHOULD get to help decide the recipes used at my favorite restaurant. I don't. That's a decision for the owner.

I sincerely believe that most of these so-called "anti-FReepers" were never truly FReepers to begin with. Many of them carefully put on a good show using web versions of the tactics used by narcs, but their goal from the beginning was to disrupt or destroy the most powerful tool the conservative movement has ever known.

I think Free Republic has the institutional fortitude to outlast these scumbags, but the war will be an ongoing one, as long as there are selfish liberal mice, mischievous malcontents, and bitter goofballs in the world.
