I, myself, am very concerned about illegal immigration, as it is a piece of the puzzle in the destruction of America. Similar to taxes, abortion, sexual degneracy, centralized government, and the UN/IMF/WTO, which represent the destructive factors on the economic, moral, social, constitutional and sovereignty factors, illegal immigration is a destructive factor in terms of the cultural component. With the damage that illegal immigration is doing to America on the economic, social, cultural and demographic fronts, it is easy to see that this issue needs to be addressed.

I also happen to think that the entire immigration system needs to be reformed, accompanied with a moratorium of ten to twenty years.

What's your opinion?

I live 25 miles from the border, what do you think?

This is a problem which could be solved if our leaders had the will to correct it.>p> The first step is to eliminate the incentives that entice the illegals here, the welfare, free medical care, free education etc. The next step would be for our President to informe el Presidente Fox that he had six months to stop the flow of illegals, or we would pull out of NAFTA, (which we can do with a 6 month notice), lock down the border, (no one crosses), and boycott all mexican products. He would be tripping over himself to comply if he thought we were serious. Beef up the Border Patrol, with manpower, and additional equipment.

Until the voters start firing any congressman, or senator who panders to the illegals, or mentions amnesty, our borders will continue to be overrun. This can not be done by the Border districts, they are drawn up so that it is not possible to outvote the dead, illegals, and Marxists.

I am concerned about illegal immigration.

Illegals from Mexico and elsewhere in Central America are coming here in such vast numbers that it makes assimilation improbable and unneccessary.

A Nation of two languages is two Nations.

Illegal immigrants are diluting our labor pool and holding down wages for all of us. If they were all *POOF* gone tomorrow, our yards would not go uncut, our hotels wouldn't close their doors and offices would still get cleaned.

This jobs would all be filled, and at higher wages. As the number of unemployed shinks the value of all labor will rise.

We have enjoyed years of practically no inflation in large part due to the cheap labor of illegals. As our wages rise, so will prices, put a little inflation is a small price to pay for the future of our Nation.

Illegal immigration is a crime. Close the borders and enforce the law, including against the employers who hire them.

… this issue needs to be addressed.

Freepers have been addressing this issue for years – to no avail. Our last chance to do something was the election of 2000. Since both Bush and Gore favored open borders, it was never an issue! Worse, it will never be an issue for Bush since he “thinks” he can get the illegals to vote Republican. But there was a candidate, Pat Buchanan, who made illegal immigration a large part of his campaign. He was summarily excluded from the debates.

Sorry – I had to mention Pat Buchanan. As long as illegal immigration is an issue, his name will come up. My apologies are for inciting all the “Anti-Pats” out there. They’ll be re-posting all the usual “anti-Pat” ad hominem attacks.

A Poem for you:

I come for visit, get treated regal, So I stay, who care I illegal?

I cross border, poor and broke, Take bus, see employment folk.

Nice man treat me good in there, Say I need to see welfare.

Welfare say, "You come no more, We send cash right to your door."

Welfare checks, they make you wealthy, Medicaid it keep you healthy!

By and by, I got plenty money, Thanks to you, American dummy.

Write to friends in motherland, Tell them come as fast as you can.

They come in rags and Chebby trucks, I buy big house with welfare bucks.

They come here, we live together, More welfare checks, it gets better!

Fourteen families they moving in, But neighbor's patience wearing thin.

Finally, white guy moves away, Now I buy his house, and then I say, "Find more aliens for house to rent."

And in the yard I put a tent.

Send for family (they just trash), But they, too, draw the welfare cash!

Everything is mucho good, And soon we own the neighborhood.

We have hobby--it's called breeding, Welfare pay for baby feeding.

Kids need dentist? Wife need pills?

We get free! We got no bills!

American crazy! He pay all year, To keep welfare running here.

We think America darn good place!

Too darn good for the white man race.

If they no like us, they can go, Got lots of room in Mexico.

I am concerned about both illegal and legal immigration for several reasons. The biggest problem I see is not necessarily with the nature of the current immigrants, but with their raw numbers combined with the changes to this country over the last one hundred years. I think this country could handle a certain level of immigration from Mexico and Asia just fine - some of the comments I read on FR about the nature of the immigrants are echoes of the comments hurled against immigrants throughout American history - many Americans in the year 1900, for example decried how all the immigrants from Catholic countries were going to ruin the Protestant values upon which this country was founded. Now Pat Buchanan, a Catholic, is saying the new wave of immigrants will ruin the European values upon which this country was founded. Funny how the benchmark moves once you're in the country.

But this isn't my grandfather's America any more. Instead of assimilation, the country promotes diversity for diversity's sake (except for the most important diversity, diversity of thought). The Constitution went from being taught reverently in school to being a subversive document that right-wing whackjobs carry around in their shirt pockets. So you take a level of immigration that this country would have had difficulty assimilating in the old days, and it becomes practically impossible for the country to assimilate it nowadays.

But for all the damage that unlimited legal and illegal immigration may cause to this country, the true cancer, the true rot, is deep inside, in the hearts and minds of so many of our countrymen, as witnessed by the Red and Blue map during the 2000 election. We are no longer, IMO, one country, indivisible - liberalism has made this country radioactive, and the right blow to the nucleus could split things apart...

Yes, and why the powers that be need committees and discussion over this infuriates me. Hello illegal immigration is ILLEGAL, arrest them, the businesses and people that knowingly employ them, ship 'em back. ENFORCE OUR BORDERS. Simple. Then move on to curbing LEGAL immigration from countries whose people refuse to assimilate even the slightest.

I have a problem with the amount of legal immigration that has been going on for the last 10 years. Noticeably, most of the immigrants are from non-Christian nations. Is that just coincidence, or, is it a concerted effort to bust-up the Christian heritage of the USA? Most hispanic immigrants, or illegal immigrants, are of a Christian heritage. The flood of Muslims and Hindus into the country lacking any desire to assimilate into our culture, with exception to tapping into our healthcare, free education and opportunities to make money, does upset me.

FreedomFriend. Thanks for the "PING". I'll have to "BUMP" for later. I'm going to run a few errands, but I do have alot to say pertaining to this issue. I'm very much concerned about "Illegal Immigration" as the next person. Question is after one who sends many faxes, makes dozens of calls, etc., etc. How do people like us address this issue? I will talk to you later.

If there is one more drop of blood on American soil it will be solely because our Government representatives did absolutely nothing to protect us. Our current "let every one in" immigration policy is destroying our culture, impacting our infrastructure (water supply, schools, roads, jobs, etc.), and ultimately may result in another attack against us. As far as I am concerned President Bush and every member of Congress will be responsible for the next attack given that they have done nothing to shut down our immigration free for all.

I live in overcrowded Northern Virginia. I feel like I'm the foreigner. I hate it here now and I hate the ones responsible for destroying what used to be a nice place to live. The local high school seemed American only two years ago -- now whites are the minority. mulsims are multiplying like cockroaches around here. My patience is wearing thin. We've been invaded. These people are nothing short of a plague. It's a disaster. The quality of life here declines daily. And we're going to have a nice little war with Iraq soon, so that young American guys like my son can get blown away to make room for more of these b @ $ t @ r d s pouring in here to demand services. The anger builds...

Illegal immigration needs to be stopped. It drives down the wages of low-skilled labor and imports voters into the ranks of the democratic party. Most illegal aliens are members of racial minority groups and hence immediatly qualify for affirmative action, thus further destroying the standard of living for natives. Finally, the mechanisms of assimlation are not functioning and hence the illegals contribute to the Balkinization of American society.

It is not just illegal immigration that is a problem. Currently, legal immigration is a worse problem. Our immigration laws are biased to favor the low-skilled, who are more likely to end up on welfare than natives and who also Balkinize our country and swell the ranks of the democratic party. We need to return to the immigration policies of 1924.

The following is from a neighborhood bulletin board in the Mt Vernon area of Fairfax County, Va. This is one of the most affluent parts of a very rich county. The Asian gang activity alluded to did not come ourt of the sky. I would bet money a significant number are illegals the rest are beneficiaries of our strange immigration laws that gives priority to unskilled and barely literate people from throughout the third world. Due to the high number of Section 8 apartments in the Route 1 (Richmond Highway) corridor a veritable third world tower of babel has set up shop close to a part of the high rent district. I have noticed increasing numbers of latino and Asian "youts" congregating at the 7-11 mentioned in this posting. One evening when I stopped later than usual to get a gallon of milk there were so many young Asians that they were blocking the enntrance. One younf man very politiely said good evening and the rest of his peers moved out of the way. In retrospect I think it had something to do with my age and the general deference east Asians pay to older people (apparently even young thugs). I hope some of the affluent highly evolved and progressive types that live in this area will not see unfettered immigration and "multiculturalism" in a different light, but I have my doubts.

The shootings in West Paducah, Kentucky; Jonesboro, Arkansas; Pearl,
Mississippi; Springfield, Oregon; Bethel, Alaska; and Columbine High
School has proven that there is a clear and present danger to our
children at school. Now we have another problem growing exponentially
in our community, Youth Gangs. At West Potomac High School alone there
are 21 active gangs in operation. There have been reported drug sales
in of our Elementary, Middle, and High Schools due to gang activity. On
June 19th at a parent sponsored graduation party for West Potomac High
School, a young man was murdered. Several gang members are being tried
as adults for the murder the 18-year-old boy. Youth gang activity
should be our number one concern for the new school year because many of
our children will join a gang solely for protection in and out of
school.

It is a popular misconception that gangs only thrive in low-income
areas, when in fact, it crosses all backgrounds and income brackets.
DEA and ATF agents raided a home in affluent McLean, VA to the surprise
of unknowing parents as their son was selling guns and ammunition to DC,
Maryland and Virginia gangs. Last year a local gang operating under the
name 29, with members from Hollin Hall, Wellington, River Farms,
Waynewood and Bucknell, victimized my family and continued their
aggression for several months because I would not drop charges against
them.

Some new friends invited our son and his 2 friends up to 7/11 where they
were ambushed by over 30 youths in the middle of Shenandoah Drive. Our
son was slashed in the face, neck and wrist severing 5 tendons. They
retreated to our house for safety as the assailants gave chase. Our son
was so severely injured that he could not make it into our house and
drove bleeding profusely to the police station for assistance. Several
of the youths kicked down our door to forcing their way in with baseball
bats, knives and machetes to kill his 2 friends. My wife and I were
awakened by the disturbance and came to their defense when they turned
on me hitting me in the back with a baseball bat. Why were they
assaulted? They were new to the area. There have been over 15 separate
incidents that have occurred to other families in our area by the same
youths in the same manner.

The young man that was murdered at the West Potomac graduation party by
the gang, Asian Young and Dangerous or AYD was a resident of an
affluent neighborhood in Mount Vernon that came to the aid of others to
allow safe passage. I have recently sighted new gang graffiti rejoicing
his death on several bus stands in the area. In recent weeks there was
a shootout at the Mustache Cafi across from Beacon Mall with rival gangs
from Maryland. Fairfax County Police could not handle the incident and
were forced to call for assistance from neighboring municipalities and
State Police. We cannot allow our children and ourselves to fall victim
to these senseless acts of violence nor can we allow crime to go
unchecked. We all need to be informed, take charge and be proactive in
making our neighborhood, homes and families safe from crime.

I am working with the Fairfax County Gang Unit to educate and inform the
community of the warning signs and how to deal with this growing threat.
Fairfax County has recently decided to reduce funding for the Gang Unit
so it is up to us. Whether you have kids in school or not, it is
important to know the warning signs so please contact me regarding
interest in attending a community meeting with the gang unit sometime in
September.
Sincerely,
