You know, a high velocity thinly jacketed hollowpoint, (5.56mm say) doesn't leave enough at the terminal end to do any ballistic comparison. Hard to even tell where it came from, or even the caliber. You never know. Border Patrolmen might keep that in mind, along with one or two such rounds in their pockets.

Thanks for thoughts on the Ranger that was killed. Sorry to hear about it. This is not the first open hostilities to break out on our border. So far we've been lucky. Our government is not being up front about what is happening down there. Our media looks the other way. It's shameful that this man had to die.
