To bad the store owner didn't place the shots a little better.

Police say if YOU are confronted by a robber - at gunpoint - it is best to cooperate... and then CALL police when you can.

Bullshit

Exactly! I've seen too many dead people who "cooperated" with robbers. Shoot first, call 911 later.

He started off at the back of the sink... and as he was getting more and more frustrated

Geez, this sounds like a cut-and-paste from some Independent Counsel's report..

Rule #1 in any gunfight is....HAVE A GUN. The next is to be proficient with it. I would hope this guy would see the wisdom of training with a certifed, experienced instructor and also of the necessity of regular, realistic practice. You can't do any better than to join an IDPA (International Defensive Pistol Association) club and regularly attend.

Even with the misplaced shots...a slightly bigger caliber (although the article didn't mention it, I'm guessing it was a minor caliber) might have seriously debilitated the perp. Imagine four hits from a 45 in that area of the body? No legs left!

The guy was running for christ's sake. You trying hitting a man running 4 out of 5 shots with your adrenaline pump running on 11. Jeez.

Depends on what Mississippi gun laws are. In TN CCW owners can now carry in stores that sell booze to go. BUT not in bars or resturants that sell booze. This is a Mississippi case, so I'm not familiar with their laws.

I live in the area so I went by the store. He shot a moving target at about 50 yards. The target was also shooting back. Looked like pretty good shooting to me.

lets change the words around a little and see what we get..

(Police) terrorism experts say if YOU are confronted by a (robber)hijacker - (eliminatethis part(at gunpoint) - it is best to cooperate... and then get a little sand and a contraban cigar(CALL police)and a cute photo when you can.

now we have.....terrorism experts say if YOU are confronted by a hijacker - it is best to cooperate... and then get a little sand and a contraban cigar and a cute photo when you can. Who the hades forgot the TWIN TOWERS.

"Shoot first, call 911 later."

Hold the phone to your ear with your shoulder and call 911 while you are reloading!

Yeah, that's real easy to say when the cameras are rolling right outside the police station. Knowing there were robberies occurring in the area should have been a tip off to be armed in the store. As for calling the police...easy enough to do when the shooting is over.
