Rep. Tom Tancredo, who spent three days this week touring parts of the U.S.-Mexico border, said yesterday he is convinced Mexican soldiers who cross the border and have shot at American officials are tied to drug smugglers.

"The amount of drug trafficking is becoming so intense, and that is always what's connected to these incursions," said Mr. Tancredo, Colorado Republican and the point man for immigration reform efforts in Congress, in a telephone interview after touring the Tohono O'odham Indian reservation in Arizona and the area near Calexico in California.

"They are being invaded -- and that's exactly the way they put it," he said. "They do not know what to do, their whole life and lifestyle is just being absolutely destroyed."

Time to stop the pandering to Mexico, George W. Bush and Repulicans.

Perhaps the Israeli's West Bank development has provided a good suggestion for the U.S. Mexico border:

We need the Americam military there to welcome the Mexican military the next time they invite themselves over our border.

I bet they wouldn't make the same mistake twice.

Legalizing MJ would but an almost instant stop to MJ coming in from Mexico. More than enough MJ would be grown in America. And many would grow their own.

Time to stop the pandering to Mexico, George W. Bush and Repulicans.

What about leftists, democrats and their open border policies for welfare?

Time to export the drugs, not to import them. Make use illegal, possession legal. End of story, and libertarians can go to hell if they want to consume it and confine society with drugies.

Ya, no druggies in society now.

And one need not be a libertarian to oppose the obscene War On Some Drugs.

I'd have a nice little hydroponic setup going if it was legal. I don't even smoke anymore, but it just looks like a fun project.

Them too. But it is characteristic of them, not the pubbies. If cooking thebooks is bad for corporations, so too is loading the country with low talent illegals bad for the country - both are short term props with severe long term negative consequenses.

He said he saw 5-year-old children walking the village streets while stoned.

They must have been laughing at him.

We don't need the military on the border. Instead of using BORTAC to apprehend 6 year old Cuban boys, they should be used for the purpose for which they were formed. That purpose is to combat exactly what Tancredo is complaining about.

How many personnel can BORTAC field per shift on each border?

The Mexican military isn't the only problem. We need to prevent all illegal border crossings.
