[history]
Three Pontiac men took the law -- and a blistering hot metal spatula -- into their hands when they learned a neighbor had been regularly sodomizing his 7- and 10-year-old nephews.
Two of the men held down the uncle while the third pressed the smoking spatula on his genitals, buttocks, stomach and legs. They paused only long enough to reheat the spatula on the kitchen stove for repeated branding before tossing the uncle out onto the sidewalk, breaking his arm.

I agree, the perp did get off easy. My heart goes out to those who administered a non-leathel, fitting punishment... and will now spend months in prison for protecting (more than one) innocent child! I'll be praying for them and the child.

Ah, but the 'Injustice System' creates more gubmint teat-suckers and pays better besides!
Socialism is a religion of peace.

Well, I guess this perp isn't going to be sodomizing anybody else anytime soon. My guess is he'll be finding out what it feels like to be sodomized, once the inmated find out why he has been branded.

In this case, the guy didn't die?

"
Oakland County Assistant Prosecutor Ken Frazee said that no crime, even horrific assaults on children, merits vigilante justice."Of course, HE isn't responsible for protecting anybody or anything. His job is to ensure that nobody else defends themselves, either. Job security, you know. (/sarcasm)

How awful - they shouldn't have broken his arm.
To: JMJ333
They need a forhead sized standard molester brand.
That way everyone would know what the score is.

Vigilante justice is never a good ideaI agree but the two high profile cases recently in California (Avila and Ratliff) illustrate how frustrated people get with the Justice system. We see way too many clearly guilty individuals either plea bargaining to wrist slap sentences or like Avila, getting off entirely. Just reading the local paper here in Oregon, too many molesters get the opportunity to bargain to short terms (even with our manditory prison laws).

I think it would be a good idea to brand all convicted child molestors with a big letter M on their foreheads. I believe we would see a dramatic reduction in pedophilia.

Yeah, and to think I am usually so inclined to non-violence. The man pleaded guilty to sodomy of a child. What do you want to bet that he would have served his sentance, got out and did it again. No--I don't give a damn about this piece of dirt. I don't care that his arm was broke. His pain is insignificant compared to the trauma he inflicited on an innocent child. I am gratified that he won't be harming the nephew anymore. I hope when he does his sentence for molestation he's thrown into the general population.

Bump....to the FOREHEAD Brand for Molesters!
To: kcpopps
Before everyone cheers these men, what happenes if the guy really didn't molest these kids? Does he get an apology from these guys for giving him a broken arm and 2nd degree burns? Aren't problems like this what laws and a justice system are for?

"Vigilante justice is never a good idea, IMO"
You must be joking. You assume that the state has a higher moral right to protect children. I don't agree.
To: kcpopps
"I don't condone what the victim did," Frazee said, after Gibson's attackers were led away. "It was repulsive. But he was punished at the hands of these defendants -- tortured -- and the law does not allow for that." Well then, maybe the problem lies with the laws and those who cowardly hide behind them.
