"It will eventually come to this here"
IMHO, we are close to that in California.
I have been fired from a job because my flaming gay boss didnt like my family values. He liked to talk about picking up guys and I liked to talk about family picnics. I could tell I was on the way out because we could discuss business but never to his satisfaction it seems he wanted to pack the office with more fun loving boys. My next job by a strange coincidence I wound up with a gay boss again and I kept my mouth shut but left for other reasons.
Where I work today they make every accommodation for the Muslims that work there (Ramadan, and daily prayer times) and we have benefits for domestic partners. I dont speak publicly about anything conservative and I guard my private life.

So why haven't they made it against the law for Muslims to preach against homosexuality? Are they too dumb to realize what Islam teaches? They've observed the same inconsistency at American universities.

They've observed the same inconsistency at American universities. And in American public schools as well.
From the article:
Seventh graders in a growing number of public schools, who are not permitted to wear a cross or speak the name of Jesus, are being required to attend an intensive three-week course on Islam - a course in which students are mandated to learn the tenets of Islam, study the important figures of the faith, wear a robe, adopt a Muslim name and stage their own Jihad.
In Byron, Calif., parents were outraged when students came home with handouts and were told what was being taught. Their complaints to the school principal not only were ignored, but officials of this public school, funded by tax dollars, essentially fluffed them off.
The public schools in California so stealthily slipped this course into the 7th grade curriculum that even another 7th grade teacher, Elizabeth Christina Lemings, was totally in the dark that this was being taught until her son, Joseph, who is a 7th grader in the same school where she teaches, brought home the handouts.

I am sorry it has come to that for you, and will keep you and your family in my prayers. I was born in San Diego, but had the good fortune of having my family relocate to the south when I was still very young. You may want to think about a tranfers yourself. You'll find us southerners gracious. =)

"jailed for what we have said already here on FreeRepublic"
I think that if the successful unopposed march of liberalism is not stopped soon it will come to that jail time for discourse. In California we prosecute "hate speech" pretty intently if it is involved with a crime of violence it becomes a hate crime and the jail time doubles. (I have to ask do we ever have love crimes?) I assume that the Euro-Nazis will take the lead on the prosecution of plain old speech as they are now doing.
The last step is to let your neighbors turn you in if they suspect you could have uttered hate-words. So yes, depending how voraciously the local prosecutors are you could be spending jail time for saying exactly what we are saying right now!!

There is a case in Minnesota where a kid had a t-shirt that said, "STRAIGHT PRIDE" and he was sent home. The case is going to court.
So yes, you can't offend anyone and if you are a Christian you have to hide it.

You can however offend Christians all you want !

From a recient article here on free republic.
Excerpt:
(My friend seemed uncharacteristically quiet and when I asked why, told me of an incident that had just happened to a friend of hers as she was walking into the state house. A group of homosexuals and lesbians approached and began threatening her and the others with her, tormenting them with anti-religious slurs. The attempts met with no response. One of the activists then centered on her and tried more aggressively to get her to respond, verbally abusing her until she was in tears. When she said nothing, the activist spat, I hope your children choke and die in front of you!)
Now I wonder what hate crime the homosexual activist would be charged with here? I suspect nothing would happen to him but the Christian would be jailed if she had defended herself.

"tormenting them with anti-religious slurs."
I will never understand the concept of a hate crime although I have met up with conservatives on Free Republic that support the notion that there is a difference in a crime because it is caused by hate.
Yes, I have seen the very bold street-queers here in San Francisco who know they can get in your face and speak with impunity.(In case you haven't heard they like being called queer now -- go figure.) You don't have the same freedom if you dress and act normally, so it is in this upside-down world we live in.
Not that I think I'd ever get in a queers face but as I said before that they don't like to even have us conservatives around and they have much superior rights here in California. They are comming to your town soon.

Sodomite Sweden and the rest of the narcisstic Europe will soon choke on their own fascist homo-socialist excrement in the name of "tolerance". Pathetic...

Interesting......if you don't like what a person has to say, make it illegal for them to say it.
Our 1st Amendment rights are disappearing quickly......I wonder if freedom of the liberal press will be the only excerpt remaining in that amendment within the next decade?
God bless us all!

"in that amendment within the next decade"
The liberals today are firmly in control of:
1. Higher and lower education.
2. The news media print and broadcast. (Except for some conservative talk show hosts.)
3. Much of the judical branch of the federal government.
4. Main-line protestant churches and the Roman Catholic church.
5. The state governments of California, Washington and Vermont. (I would guess there are more states but I'm being conservative in my estimate and I only follow CA closely.)
I hate to think about a decade from now.
Would anyone care to add to the list?
To: BeAllYouCanBe
Somebody oughta get all the straight students in that school to wear a "straight pride" T-shirt. What are they gonna do, send hundreds or thousands of kids home?
To: BeAllYouCanBe
I'm sure that the liberals are firmly in control of the Anti-Defamation League.
To: Singapore_Yank
even if this means throwing out freedom of speech and freedom of religion. The Swedish parliament has passed a constitutional amendment that would make it a crime to teach that homosexual behavior is immoral. Now they can be like Oh Canada, they have "hate" speech laws too. Next comes the pink swastikas.
To: Utmost Certainty
I thought that they were called "Swedomites".

I assume we will all be jailed for what we have said already here on FreeRepublic. It's a perfect record.Yeah, and do you think that we would allow ourselves to be jailed. One by one, while we do nothing?
To: MinorityRepublican
No I suspect not.
