Mark Steyn is his usual hilarious self. Anyway, although August is supposed to be the quiet month, Steyn left out one other notable August where the bottom dropped out of the Middle East: Saddam's own invasion of Kuwait in August 1990. More specifically, August 2nd. Btw, that's TODAY. Any one want to place bets the American assault on Saddam will be timed for this weekend? It would be ironic if Saddam were on the receiving end of an invasion in August for a change. And the Kuwaitis would have a barrel laugh about the whole shebang.

How does August 11th work for you? Say, 3 p.m. Eastern?

Sounds like shortly after sunset in Baghdad.

But the next new moon is August 8th.

Anyway, just for the record, Osama bin Evil's son is called Saad, and I'd be saad if I found out I'd inherited a business whose principal asset was the executive latrine at Sub-Basement Level 14 in Tora Bora.

ROFL!

al-Qaeda is now being run by Osama's 20-year old son, Scott bin Laden.

I always though that claims of spitting things on computer monitors were bogus. Until now. I almost choked to death on a blueberry muffin. Please add me to the Steyn ping list.

You're right... I forgot that.

"Arabists in the British Foreign Office who rarely miss an opportunity to give the House of Saud the full Monica."

Not to mention those in our State Dept. Steyn scores again!

But, as readers will recall, I said a couple of months back that the old has-bin was pushing up daisycutter bits in the Hindu Kush and I don't figure we'll be seeing him on video again unless he's dancing with Fred Astaire in a new Dirt Devil commercial.

LOL

radical no-prong strike using a broad spatula

Works for me.

First things first: It's not strictly necessary for a new regime in Iraq to be better than its predecessor, only different.

Sodamn Insane knows this. Only the panty-waists in the State Dept. and the NYT are wringing hands over it.

It is worthwhile to remember that George HW Bush initiated Desert Storm while 'on vacation' in Kennebunkport.

GWB's at the ranch 'on vacation,' ain'a?

My favorite nasty line, also. ;^)

The F.O. boys must loathe Steyn, heartily.
