Imus just asked Lieberman why Rubin isn't in handcuffs and dragged out in front of the cameras like all of the other criminals. Lieberman seemed to doze off at that point...

Hi ken5050, I'm not keeping close tabs, but Barr's tv ad is fabulous, he's got plenty of money, but I've got to tell you, he's got plenty of enemies too...and not all of them democrats.
My daughter on the far eastern fringe of the district thinks Linder will win over there. I don't have a good feel for the race, but if I were forced to guess, I'd go with a Linder win too. It's awful to consider the Congress without Bob Barr...but either way, our side loses a fine congressman. There's no doubt though that the district will stay R.
Cleland ousted? Not gonna happen. He's got a really convincing disgusting ad already playing on tv, that shows Zell Miller endorsing him, and praising him to the sky. Chambliss can't top that, not with Georgia voters.

Hi Fred,
Doesn't matter what Burton does or doesn't do, the Senate Democrats are going to use Enron and corporate greed against President Bush.
Already you hear rumblings of how quickly the feds arrested other CEOs, but not Kenny boy. The dems are expert at twisting, even good progress, into negatives for republicans. I have no doubt Daschle/Lieberman would hold up Enron investigations if it benefited dems politically, and this stall has two advantages. They can blame the delays on Bush connections(protection) of his Enron pals, and they get to protect Rubin.

IMHO expensing options is a red herring. What does it have to do with CEOs stating that loans are sales, that the company is doing well when it's going bankrupt, when the officers take theirs off the top all the while lying to employees, when the Wall St. know nothings are touting their stock so dupes will buy and their insider friends will be enriched.
Corrupt people will ALWAYS find ways to do what they do best, steal from others. Options, expensed or not, have nothing to do with the utter immorality left over from the previous administration.

What's the impact of the open primary?..will Dems cross to vote against Lindner?...also, I caught a few minutes of Rummy and Gen Franks handing Max his head duringthe senate hearing.....Max asked some stupid question about howitzer deployment during the Tora-Bora attack, and Franks just steamrolled him....

Yes, democrats will vote in the republican primary, and they will vote for Linder. Linder's people brag about it. They can't however, promise a big primary turn-out. That almost never happens. To counter, Barr voters are ferocious, and they will turn out in huge numbers.
Sorry I missed pee-brained Cleland getting trounced. Well known, he's a bonafide dummy. He's never questioned anyone without being totally scripted by party leadership.

They have proven TIME and TIME AGAIN THAT THEY CAN DISMISS ANYTHING THAT BURTON DOES AS right wing buffonery. I disagree, but they have his number. Agreed. Dan Burton is a very good man and a very bad politician. Or is that redundant?

Otherwise, his investigation is without merit and is nothing but a staged photo-op to bash Republicans, and the President in particular.
What's your point?

That it IS a staged Bush-bashing "investigation" without merit and the failure to call Rubin proved it.

Wish I had watched Imus this morning...drats.

"He knew well enough how much Enron had given him."Yes, he said Enron gave him $2,000 in 1994.
Hmmmm...so what did Enron give him from 1995-2001?
There was lots of nervous from LIEberman this morning!

IMO you can not legislate honor..........there is a concerted effort by certain huge firms to tamp down the market and the economy to help the democrats. They know the go go years of lying cheating and stealing are over with THIS president and they don't like it a bit. Cramps their style.
To: Libloather
It's great to see that some people aren't letting Rubin, McAuliffe and other democrazies off the hook for their abuses, especially in light of Global Crossing which the mainstream press tries to so hard to ignore.
To: Miss Marple
Sorry, I forgot to tell you this was sarcasm. I don't think the word "otherwise" belonged in that sentence because it is obviously being done to try and tear down Bush.
