Reports coming in that both girls were sexually assualted.
Hint, he can't point the gun at everyone at all times, and sometimes, the gun won't be pointed at anyone at all.
I hadn't thought of this until now, but in 1980 a woman grabbed a rifle and pointed it at me in anger. I was not thinking, only reacting, grabbed it and threw it down. The reaction was rage, sheer rage that someone would do that to me.
In 1975 a fellow put a knife to my throat. There was the same reaction, absolutely unthinking, incredible pissed-offness. As a spectator, I had the knife and pushed him out the door--it must be adrenaline of basic survival instinct--not tinged with any intellect.
We are now conditioned to feel the perp's pain, to intellectualize our predicament and apply guilt and blame to ourselves for creating the root causes of our attacker's militancy, not terrorism.
I own no gun, nor am trained in any martial art. I would not presume to judge anyone's actions in this incident--except to loudly applaud the shooting of this garbage.
And I take a dim view of kids and lover's lanes.
Young women and girls should be chaperoned.
Now, as for the perp: Why wasn't the animal behind bars?
Good for him he's dead now--but it should have been a slower death.

No, but following that line of thinking runs a very high risk of one of the four giving his/her life to save the others, assuming any of them would be smart enough or daring enough to even try to jump him.

This is not necessarily true at all. If there's anything these psychos tend to know, it's to make sure everyone is in front of you (the old back-to-the-wall trick) and that the gun is aimed at SOMEONE throughout the commission of the crime. And when you add in four obviously less-than-clear-thinking teenagers, the chances of him being jumped anyway were almost nil.

How DARE you sit at your desk, all safe & cozy with the doors and windows locked and have the NERVE to say "they should've this" or "they should've that"....You were NOT there. You were NOT accosted by this cockroach who had a gun. You are (I assume) adults, NOT teenage boys. What? Do you expect them to all be John Wayne's?????
And don't you DARE accuse the girls of being in a place where they shouldn't be, therefore, laying the blame on THEM. Yeah, it WAS late at night....and some of you WERE good kids and didn't do anything wrong...and I'm really proud of you, but doggone it. Kids SHOULD be allowed to be kids without this crap happening. Do I advocate pre-marital sex? Heck no. Do I advocate being out that late at night, so far from home? No! Will I blame them, or their parents? NO!!!!

I have nothing agains lions. I didn't want to feed him to sharks, because I like to eat shark and I wouldn't want to contaminate their meat.
