Bump for the chirping crickets...thanks TC for the heads up in the email.
This guy is probably trolling from HCI, et.al. to obtain arguments against the product in order for them to begin working on counter arguments. I doubt he has consulted the NRA and/or LE. LE would NEVER advoate using this product - it would get cops killed.

If I feel the need to have a loaded gun nearby, obviously I also want to insert a device that could disable it at the most crucial moment, right?
Maximum effective range of a 1911?
About 8 feet when jammed and thrown.
To: Eagle Eye
This device turns a firearm into a blunt instrument...and it will get people (the wrong people) killed.

Agree 100%.......I am not really impressed with this rant that keeps repeating ..... "even the NRA guys like it or something to that effect" Just because one is a member of the NRA does not make them any more or less an expert. My kid was a life member of the NRA at 3 months of age..... My Grandfather bought my life membership for me when I was 12.
I'll make a SWAG that two thirds of the NRA have never even handled a handgun as they are mostly shotgunners and competitive rifle shooters and hunters with "to the best of my knowledge as observed and experienced" very small number of handgunners per se...... The I am the NRA thing he keeps quoting ??? So what ?
I will stop posting to this thread as of now as I just find the entire concept disruptive and silly.

Tet, you've got to read through this thread, if for nothing more than comic relief. It's one for the books. I'm usually not as "abrasive" as I was in my first few volleys, but I'll stand behind my ad hominem attacks all the same. I think you'll find this thread worthy of quite a good laugh, seriousness of the topic aside.

I guess you aren't gonna get that dinner after all.
I have to say this guy got one h#ll of a free market survey!
My biggest objection is that this thing adds one more level to the essential training needed to operate a firearm under stressful conditions, not to mention the added time factor. Plus, practice makes permanent. Was'nt there a situation a few years back where some LA police got killed or injured because their range training was that after you fired you lowered the weapon, then raised it again?
Regards, Slim
PS: The "I am the NRA" is a slogan, sorta like "An Army of One."

Well, you seem to have left us, but I would still like an answer.
What did the folks at Million Mom March and The Brady Center think of your invention?
In the meantime, he has shown his idea to gun control groups such as the Million Mom March and The Brady Center

Yes, I've been following it, another case of the road to hell being paved with good intentions.
Keep your weapons secured, teach your children what they are and what they can do, and there won't be very many accidents.
Oh the horror, kids killed every year, True it is sad when
that happens, but taken as a percentage of the population it is rather miniscule.
The activists don't have a problem flying where safety is a function of "passenger miles" even though they KNOW that some planes fall from the sky every year.
I have a CC, I carry "cocked and locked", I do NOT rely on the police to protect me.
Any kids that come into MY home sure better know gun safety
or they are outside until their parents take responsibility
for them.
Caution: Unattended children will be towed away at owners expense!

MileHi

No wonder why my Glock has no external safeties. It's the safest gun on the market. No even close. There have been so many Negligent Discharges from Glocks due to lack of training that when gun people hear of an ND the assumption is that it involves a Glock. You'll notice that I stated a lack of training. There is nothing wrong with the safety designs of the Glocks. It's the owners who can't keep their fingers off the triggers.
My favorite story of a Glock is the officer who enter the washroom stall and then hung the Glock from the door hook like he had when he used a revolver. The mag was emptied and all 15 shoots discharged. Some of the rounds went through the ceiling and through the upper floor. It's funny because no one was hurt.
To: Shooter 2.5
By safest gun I mean it doesn't fire unless you pull the trigger, and it will fire when you pull the trigger. A home intruder rushing you and you having to fumble with the safeties or some plastic bullet that has jammed your gun doesn't sound very safe to me. Safe for the criminal maybe.
To: Tijeras_Slim
The "I am the NRA" is a slogan, sorta like "An Army of One."At least a person who's an active and contributing member of the NRA can say that they are the NRA. It's a slogan but I supposed they had to put something in the advertisements.
The slogan that I don't care for is the group that claims to be a "No compromise" gun group. That's not only misleading. It makes no sense whatsoever.
To: R. Scott
R. Scott,
call Berry Man speak to Tony they are making them. His # is 1-800-269-7373 and ask him directly if they work.
What I designed is a product that I would want to use. Guns are tools nothing more. I own several and am pro gun NRA memeber. If you'ld send me your address I will send you some for your gun to try for free. I'll even pay the postage than give me your honest opinion. All I ask.

Mike, the thing is, firearms aren't intended to be safe for everyone - they're intended to be dangerous and deadly for whatever you point them at and pull the trigger.
Will you accept liability if your product jams the gun of someone using it in a self-defense situation who is injured by their attacker as a result?

I can picture it now..BOOM!!!"I thought the gun had the safety bullet in it..."
Guns are loaded at all times. Period. The gun's best safety is inside your head.
To: SafetyBullet-Inventor; Ralph the Hun
By the way it does not hurt the gun in any way because the piece that locks the gun up is plastic.
....No contest, Ralph mine is ready as fast as I can eject my SB. As long as you don't accidentally fire it first...
