"men" of the 90's?
To: Tired of Taxes
Someone please tell me how a guy holding a gun manages to take one girl and (still holding the gun) tie up her boyfriend, then move to the next car and take the next girl and (still holding the gun) tie-up her boyfriend, too, then drive away??? My thoughts also. I can't believe the kidnapper could control two young people while holding a gun on them with one hand and a roll of duct tape in the other. Something doesn't smell right.

That is what I wondered. How can you hold a gun on someone while duct taping?

Could O.J. be mistaken for a Mexican/Latino? If I recall, last time he took to the Bronco, he had a disguise with him.

The boys don't seem that upset. Wonder if most people keep duct tape in the back of their stolen cars?

There is something about that guy standing there with that duct tape still on him that just doesn't look right.

He also left a car there that they should have been able to drive away.

If the kidnapper hadn't left behind a car, I wouldn't be buying this story.
While you say the boys are in shock, the one doesn't seem to be...he even said he "didn't think there were bullets in the gun".
Just asking questions and want to be absolutely sure the girls were indeed "kidnapped".

Sorry to sound calloused, but what the hell are a 16 and 17 year old doing out after 1am on a Wednesday night?
To: Howlin
There was a report that said he dumped gasoline on the car but failed to ignite and took the keys from the driver of the other.

He may have had the girl ductape the guys, while holding them all at gunpoint. Then it took them a while to get away in the car left............ just my take on the story.

30 years of indoctrination with "don't resist" "do what the bad guy says" "wait for the police" and "don't be a hero".

Howlin...LOOK at the picture of the "stolen car". It doesn't look like it could be driven to the end of a driveway..It's in salvage condition.

They're in shock. They don't look like they're in shock to me. In fact, they look pretty relaxed and don't appear to have put up any resistance. Are they weenies who were afraid to defend the girls or were they in on the abduction to begin with?

When I grew up and was that age, I had to be in by 11 unless I had good reason for being out later. IE, playng with a band etcetera. Usually at night my buddies and I would walk to the local ice cream shop - we still had them then - which was only a couple of blocks away, but I still had to be back by 11.
Anyway Wife, who grew up in the same pretty safe community, was one of 6 kids and she didn't have to be home or check in. At the time she was only 14-16 and her parents let her come and go as she pleased. I used to kid her about only stopping home to change clothes.
WHen it came to our Kidz, I tried to lay down the law early on and was quickly and rather harshly admonished by Wife. After several years and 3 Kidz I finally gave up and let her take care of scheduling. After all I was the grumpy old man, a dang right-wing control freak.
I have to admit we did raise 3 pretty darn good Kidz including an Eagle Scout and a soon to be Ealges scout. But it still irks me that I am usually not in the loop when it comes to Kidz whereabouts.
I'll make plans, tell them about it and there's almost always a call at the line of scrimage because one or more of the Kidz have something else thay'd rather do.
It's a parenting point Wife and I will never agree on. Then again we've been together 25 years and as I said Kidz turned out OK.
But boy have things changed. I'll never get used to it.

What do you think might have happened? The guy took a truck with Nevada license plates, and is in CA..However, it doesn't necessarily mean that he stole the truck from Nevada, the owner/truck may have been in CA for whatever reason. From what I heard on the news, the FBI's checking Nevada to see if he committed a crime there and is running.
