The motel owner said that Moussaoui and a man who appeared to be Marwan al-Shehhi --who helped crash a jetliner into the south tower of the World Trade Center--were friendly and said a few things, but Atta was clearly the leader. "He did most of the talking and seemed very serious," said the owner, adding, "I was standing face to face, about two feet away from Atta, and talked to the three of them for about 10 minutes. . . .

In addition to some other interesting points, this one struck me as dead on. Maybe, just maybe, with Pubbies in control of the Senate, House, and the Executive branch, we might see some changes. If this election brings that about and the trash STILL doesn't get hauled out, we are in deep doodoo!

Point taken. FWIW, I had not run across the story before due to reduced Freeping time, so I'm glad glorygirl(whom I happened to notice on another thread regarding the same story) posted it again. Following some of the links in the previous threads indicates this "story" has been around for a while. Interesting nonetheless that the WSJ finally picked it up, no?

More of the bent one's legacy?
To be sure. But don't forget those who bought and paid for him or the Media. That most foul and complicit Corporate Media who continue on unelected and unaccountable.
Would that be the bunch we fondly refer to as the "Shadow Government"? The puppetmasters? Suffice it to say that any cohesive group that can control the purse strings of near unimaginable wealth will likely have some degree of influence over events. ; )
Question is, is there such a group? If so, what might their plans be for the unwashed? How could their influence be eliminated, or at least diluted?

Question is, is there such a group?
Given the structure of International or World banks and the Federal Reserve Bank and so on is it possible that there isn't such a group?
If so, what might their plans be for the unwashed?
The answer to that lies in what has and is happening in the world. What direction are governments, laws and regulations headed? What direction have income taxes headed since their institution with the 16th Ammendment in 1913? How many other ways have we been taxed as well?
How could their influence be eliminated, or at least diluted?
That's a soulsearching question I hope more and more people will ponder deeply. Regardless of how impossible affecting them might seem. In general my answer is resistance through non-participation, education, information sharing and spiritual practice. I may have to admit that I'm a slave but I am not a happy and willing slave. ; )

I try to operate using the KISS principle. The answer seems simple to me; the execution more difficult. IF our elected representatives actually fulfilled their oath of office, i.e., their responsibilities to us, there wouldn't be a problem, or potential problem regardless of the machinations of the puppeteers. Our "professional" legislators are captives in a contrived surreal world that bears little resemblance to our world. Happenstance? I doubt it. As you suggest, it shows signs of a guiding hand.
Of course, how could any of this happen without the Ministry of Information shamelessly bending, twisting, and spinning the "news" for the body politic? In my own simple mind, the media is the primary tool for molding the minds of the unwashed(discounting in no way pulik skools). The media is the single most sinister player in the whole mix.
Well, gotta eat a bite. Til later...

You seem to have a good take on things. It's all worth fighting for but on the other hand it's all so big and complicated that it isn't worth giving oneself an ulcer over it. Keep fighting the good fight. Thanks for the conversation.
