He may, after all, be vindicated in appellant court. But if he is to defeat the forces against him, he must identify what and who they are.

I hope both of those things happen.

The Ohio Congressman has a knack for telling it like it is.

Jim Traficant has a knack for self-promotion, accompanied by a flamboyant fashion style and a bellowing voice interlaced with crude homilies, pretentious rhetoric, and occasional flatulence.

He is Ohio's answer to Al Sharpton.

I yield back the Constitution that mandates a two-thirds ratification vote of the U.S. Senate to enact a treaty, if anybody abides by the Constitution around here.

Traficant is dead right on this one. I have been saying for years (perhaps a decade) that so-called Trade Agreements are, in reality, Illegal Treaties disguised as 'Agreements'. It was bound to happen. Once Congress realized that they could simply rename an unconstitutional act, such as a Bill of Attainder, to a reasonably sounding one, such as Asset Forfeiture, and effectively trick the people out of their rights, the sky was the limit on usurpation.

BTW, the real Philip Freneau, as the Editor of the National Gazette, explained this trickery (and much more) in a 1792 editorial satire titled, "Rules for changing a limited representative republic into an unlimited heredity one."

Didn't he, however, vote against impeaching X42?

Anyone, even a child molester and a bank robber may have done something good in his life. That does not make him a good person.

One is measured not only by how high your soul rises but also by how low it falls. The soul of this elected official has mopped the floor a number of times.

It is sad to see the low standards of his electorate that allowed him to be re-elected.

I yield back to the jury that convicted this criminal.
