President Bush, while meeting with his cabinet, denounced the attack against Israel that killed seven and injured 80 people at the Hebrew University cafeteria. He issued a statement on America's current economic growth -- not as strong as he would like, but showing strong signs within the new Department of Commerce report (echoed by some private forecasters) that there will be growth of three to five percent, rather than the 1.1 percent for the spring quarter just past.
Bush met privately with Rudy Guliani, who was in the DC area to give a speech.
Ari Fleischer noted at his press briefing that 60 presidential nominees are awaiting confirmation in the Senate, among them: the Deputy Secretary of Energy; FEMA's Deputy Director; NASA's Deputy Administrator; the Office of Management and Budget Deputy Director; 29 foreign policy nominees (some for critical functions); and of course, judicial nominees. He noted that yesterday Daschle "made a commitment" (undefined by Ari) to the President about the nominations on hold and that some Senate members now are objecting to the commitment.
We're a little light on photos today.
Besides, it's oooooonly sex! EVERYBODY lies about sex! It's just his personal life. We should move on!!!
hehehe. Sarcasm out.
YAHOO - that the exam is over! What a burden lifted!!!
Psalm 42 is definitely one for singing - has some mournful tones but ends in a song of victory!
Or to make Bill Clinton look the least bit respectable, which is totally an impossible task.
Nea Wood- don't worry I know your sarcasm wasn't aimed at me LOL
Did anyone see Richard Dreyfuss on the History Channel last night? He was talking about Washington DC- "Mr. Dreyfuss Goes to Washington." Correct me if I am wrong, but he is a BIG liberal right? God you could tell- he went ON AND ON about FDR and his memorial (what a crock) and gave JFK the credit for cleaning up Pennsylvania Avenue. BUT THE KICKER was that at the end, he was talking basically about how our nation SUCKS and how cynical we all are, but when you come to the memorials, you feel better about our country and it gives you warm fuzzies and you can 'put it all behind you' for a moment or two. WHAT A NEGATIVE attitude about our country!!!!!! Did anyone else see this? When I get home tonight, I am going to be writing the History Channel to let them know that I did NOT appreciate such a sour attitude about our country. What an Ahole!!!!
OhioWfan-- thanks so much for the support, and to everyone else on here that has been SO great to me during my bar time and has thought and prayed for me even though you don't even know me. You guys are the best!
oh. i see. (slinking off in opposite direction.......the agony of rejection stings)
I wish somebody would do the research (not moi - no time) but wish somebody would look into this: I believe all of the alternative cabel channels are being scooped or have been scooped up by Hitlery's minions.
The Discovery Channel, the History Channel, all the women's channels (Lifetime and Oxygen), and of course CNN already - and CSPAN!!! = meaning she has her people running things or influencing things not just on the CBSNBCABC expected presstitute channels...but also on these others.
As I try to convince everyone I can reach with the truth:
Hillary is the greatest propagandist of our time and it is no wonder the Communist Chinese butchers admire her!
But everything thereon seems to be increasingly getting the Hillary filter.
I don't have the names of the people but I KNOW they are all Friends of Hill/Bill. A project to inspire investigations. Calling the Guild!
I have only visited Washington twice but am thinking about changing that. ;-)
I don't know for sure, but he must be. So few actors/actresses are conservative and those that are stick out like a sore thumb. They can be counted on the fingers of one hand or maybe two. Let's see, James Garner, Mel Gibson...... (two of my favorites - not coincidentally)
Thank you SOOO much, Gretchen! You've done a fantabulous job. If I weren't such a confident person, I'd be a little nervous about you and Ohio... LOL. And special thanks to all the regulars for keeping the dose pretty damn active!
I'll FReepmail you with a couple other suggestions, as the whole of Puget Sound is ringed with forts built in the mid-1800's that are still in use today in one form or another (state parks, museums, vacation rentals, etc.).
In the first picture I put up looking toward the Northern Olympics across Admiralty Inlet, I want to point out something else. The water just in front of the long spit on which I was standing (on Marrowstone Island) when the picture was taken is called Mystery Bay (very pretty little bay); the island just beyond that is Indian Island, which serves as a naval munitions depot (note the ship-loading crane in the water), where I was told all ships coming into the Sound have to offload their munitions before approaching the large cities; and just beyond the island is Admiralty Inlet. The next piece of land is the Olympic Peninsula and on it (straight across in the photo) is Old Fort Townsend, now a state park. And it just gets better from there!
I'm glad you shared those -- the photos bring everything so much closer, especially in an online community.
Thanks for trusting me with such a precious commodity. It was fun.
