Perhaps, but let's not forget that the minimum height for a Roman soldier at that time was about 5'10"... This guy wouldn't have been that much bigger than your average Roman legionnaire.

IIRC, 5'10" was the minimum height for Roman cavalrymen, who were considered elite troops, but the minimum for your standard-issue legionnaire was around 5'5". Since we're suddenly so picky about it ;)
