OH BIG BOO!! This is UNREAL!! My deepest sympathy to Mr. Traficant! May all the RATS burn in HELL along with the daughter of satan, HITLERY!!

Where's the money? He does have to pay for all those gifts he said he didn't receive when he was beating-up that podium the other day.

The "admonishment" was for the Torch not covering his tracks well enough.
Next time he's on the take, he'll do much better, thanks to the ethics committee.

My deepest sympathy to Mr. Traficant! It does look like they singled him out now since a double standard has been so obviously applied. These demoncrats can rot in hell.

Does this mean that the Torch is on "Double-Secret Probation"?
Did he promise never to do what he didn't do again?
The death of this Country is only a heartbeat away, folks...

Gee wizz, I imagine Torricelli will now do like Packwood and resign . . . hahahahaha!

The Senate consists of adult spoiled children, long overdue for a spanking.
Gee, thanks for that image...

Carry on, Torch. Try not to get caught next time.

I notice the dateline on DRudge's story is
Associated Press Writer Tuesday, July 30, 2002;
7:23 PM Too late for the network news...will it even be mentioned tomorrow...2 full news cycles later. I doubt it.
But I admit it, I'm surprised the committee took any action before the November elections. Must have been grievous proof against him.
And can Chang even accept payment of debt from Toricelli while he's in prison?

Are you really surprised? The Sinate is a J-O-K-E.

Imagine what is does not feel like to have no moral center. Politics as usual in Washington. I guess they're counting on short term memories from the sheeple...

"In other words, a mere slap on the wrist." Nope, not a slap on the wrist.
A slap on the wrist would have been a "rebuke".
The Torch was admonished, not "rebuked".
"Admonished" means, "Don't get caught again"!

Letting Torricelli slide while Traficant gets 8 YEARS just doesn't sit well with me, and, IMHO, it's not going to sit well with the majority of Americans. Something here stinks to high heaven... Absolutely agree...so just a quick check on "facts/info." and please bear with me here...
Is it absolutely certain that this "ethics committee" is even at three Dem.'s and three Repub.'s? and, is there any possibility that "severe admonishment" will be followed by further action?!
I will wait to see what Sen. Voinovich does next...even at "3 and 3", I can not believe he would be the one vote needed to "tip the balance" in Torricelli's favor!
It's so outrageous that I'm compelled to reserve judgement and await more details, since I think there must be more to this than meets the eye...

The US Attorney for the Southern District of NY and the Senate let Torricelli go, but he could be indicted, in theory, by the NJ prosecutor for the county in which he lived at the time he got the "gifts" , if the prosecutor believed these items were other than gifts. The relevant prosecutor would be the Bergen County Prosecutor,William H. Schmidt. His office telephone is 201-646-2406. NJ has state laws dealing with what The New York Times thinks he did.

"Traficant got 8 years and expelled, Torricelli the con man got a timeout. Justice anyone?"
Not to mention that there is critical evidence showing guilt, unlike the hearsay against Trafficant.
