The Senate "ethics" committee is made up of three DemocRATs and three Republicans. Unless the chairman (Inouye) gets two votes, the Republicans had to go along with this travesty.
Why is Torricelli being "admonished"? Did he take illegal gifts? If so, why didn't they vote to expel? Do we have one set of standards for CEO's and another for Senators?
If he didn't accept illegal gifts, why is he being "admonished"??
The three Republicans on the committee are Pat Roberts of Kansas, George Voinovich of Ohio and Craig Thomas of Wyoming. I've written all three, expressing my disgust.

Their huffing and puffing about CEOs was laughable.
They are such hypocrites I don't know how these guys can shave in the morning since that means they have to look at themselves in the mirror.
To: StopDemocratsDotCom
In other words, a mere slap on the wrist.

What a WHITEWASH!!! The guy, Chiang, that GAVE him the illegal gifts is in JAIL, but Toricelli, who GOT the illegal gifts, and KNOWS they are illegal gets an ADMONISHMNT@!Where are the statesmen?

Is he okay?? A severe admonishment must be humiliating, no doubt meant to send a powerful message to others who would conduct themselves in a manner unbecoming a United States Senator. I'm certain the Ethics Committee is exhausted, weary from the strain, but proud that justice has been done. And that Americans can rest easy tonight, the U.S. Constitution is safe, once again. Thank you members. We are proud of you.
Somewhere in a parallel universe, where truth and justice prevails.

severely admonishes........................is that like a slap on the hand, but the Libs dont lose the seat? Basically, yes. Kinda like demanding that the Senate Ethics committee (an oxymoron if there ever was one) throw Torricelli in the B'riar Patch...

Letting Torricelli slide while Traficant gets 8 YEARS just doesn't sit well with me, and, IMHO, it's not going to sit well with the majority of Americans. Something here stinks to high heaven.

Remember Bob Packwood? He would get drunk and grab a kiss from some poor unsuspecting gals who came forward after 20 years or so?
They removed him from the senate....
The senate is an embarassment.

There are some days when I want to just be old and turn the damn country over to the youngsters and quit watching the news, turn to reading fiction and giving it all up. This is one of those days,,Torricelli and Clinton learning how to be master of the senate. I thinnk it is time for me to just retire from thinking or commenting on what is going on. Just sickening.

I guess so. Only one of them can be forgiven. Strom Thurmond doesn't know what he is doing, but no doubt, he is being manipulated by his staff to achieve their goals.

Where are the statesmen? In the House of Represenatatives.
The Senate consists of adult spoiled children, long overdue for a spanking.

Remember.... But most people will not. The senate is an embarassment.
Only to those that think or remember.
It's a rigged game. Intentionally rigged. Dumb citizens = dumb voters.

"Severely Admonishes". Figures. They won't do anything else because Democrats can't afford to lose control of the Senate under their "plurality" leader.
Guess I'll go to bed. I probably have another long day of leftist bashing ahead tomorrow.

On O'Reilly tonight he said something about the full Senate noting making anymore decisions on him until after the November elections. What else is there to do? Give him tickets to Disney Land?
