[history]
The "wascally wabbit," who's faced down Elmer Fudd, Marvin the Martian and Yosemite Sam, has come out on top again: According to the latest issue of TV Guide, Bugs Bunny is the greatest cartoon character of all time.
Bugs is also the only character from the pre-television animated-short golden age to make the magazine's top 10.

I must agree, that's got to be among the best. Not all of the things that made me laugh as a child still have that effect, but that "Hillbilly Hoedown" number always reduced me to helpless laughter.
Among my other Bugs Bunny favorites:
Baseball Bugs
Rhapsody Rabbit
Falling Hare
What's Opera, Doc?
Herr meets Hare
and finally, because I am politically incorrect and proud of it,
Bugs Bunny Nips the Nips

HILLBILLY HARE!!!
I NEVER laughed harder at a Bugs Bunny cartoon as I did at that one! Those hillbillies were doing whatever he said, because he was calling a square-dance!
I was literally in tears on the floor.

Foghorn Leghorn used to crack me up until I became familiar with Fritz Hollings. What does, I say, what does Fritz Hollings have to do with Foghorn, boy? Foghorn, I say, Foghorn is much smarter, even when being outsmarted by Dog and Weasel.

Bugs Bunny RULES!!!
"Of course you know, this means war!"

Wile E. Coyote! Give me a break! He and the Roadrunner are the orignal Johnny One-Notes. Same schtick, same scenery, over and over and over and over. Bugs, Elmer and Daffy rule!

Daffy Duck's performance in 'My Piggy Bank' was unforgetable -- especially the part where he turns 'Neon Noodle' into an 'Eat At Joe's' neon.

Bugs Bunny and Pete Puma.
Ha ha ha ha ha!
How many lumps you want that? Oh, 3 or 4.
And Pete's Maxine Water imitation (or is Maxine imitatating Pete?)... None better...
Eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!

Er, firstly, I bumped the Bugs list...
...and secondly, the starving coyote represents the existential dilemma of late 20th Century man.
Take your hat off; show some respect! I suspect you're probably a roadrunner supporter.
Did you know the bird's a Democrat?...a Liberal Democrat? ;^)

"Bump your list and add Wile E. Coyote! Ditto that! One of these days he IS going to catch the damned Roadrunner.
("Beep-Beep! Ur-ass!")
