As she becomes more publicly acerbic, it will not wear well and will backfire on her.

I'm always happy to pile on when it comes to Hillary bashing, but if W employed the binge/hangover metaphor first, what's the big deal if Hillary continues in the same vein?

"Could the former first lady be suggesting that the current president is drinking?"

No. She's saying that the guy who was president for most of the 90s (Clinton) was better than the one who's complaining about the 90s (Bush)

Are all reporters completely stupid?

I am reminded of what Abraham Lincoln once said, when his commanders complained about Ulysses S. Grant's binges. 'Find out,' he said, 'what brand of whiskey Grant drinks because I'm going to send a barrel to each of my generals.'"

In other words, Hillary said Bush is doing a good job -- as Grant did -- and that, therefore, everyone else should be drinking the same thing he is!!!!! Astonishing! Hillary compliments Bush!

When referring to Hillary, kindly avoid using the word "ac-er-bic" or any other term that might bring to readers' mind certain aspects of Her Heinousness's anatomy, inducing involuntary emetic effects.

Even a long-time drunk -- which is not what President Bush is/was by a long shot -- but a inherently vile, evil bitch always will be such.

But her day surely will come, and none of us will have to lift a finger to bring it about.....

I agree. It sounds like it must have been a very slow day in the news. Talking heads trying to create news that didn't exist on its own.

Reminiscent of Churchill's famous reply to the woman who accused him of being drunk.

What I see in this article is weak attempt by Hillary to take Bush's binge/hangover metaphor and try to turn it on its head, by constructing an analogy between her husband's recklessness as President and US Grant's drinking as a general.

Eleanor Roosevelt probably told her to say it.

I'm no fan of Hillary, but if there was an attempt by her to reusurrect the Bush/drunkard smear, the article does a poor job of reporting it.

That Craig Crawford is one of the worst anti-Bush people out there right now. Everytime I've see him on TV he never misses an opportunity to slam "W".

This would be the perfect thread to post Hillary's own "hangover" photo, taken on one of her early-morning sessions in the Senate.

Hillary sucks, of course, but this attempt at spin is embarassingly insipid.

Bush brought up "binge" and "hangover," not Hillary.

Her response (which I'm sure she didn't write) was clever, even if totally inaccurate.
