[history]
July 30, 2002 -- Rep. Gary Condit claims the media wanted him to say he "did" slain intern Chandra Levy, and compares newscaster Connie Chung to Russian President Vladimir Putin in an angry, defiant interview, it was reported today.
The Washington Post said that in the interview with Esquire magazine, the California Democrat blames the media for his problems after he was romantically linked to Levy, whose remains were found in a Washington D.C., park on May 22.

"She wasn't gettin' anything out of me; she wasn't going to break me, no way. If he didn't do Chandra, there wouldn't be anything to "get" out of him.

She wasn't gettin' anything out of me; she wasn't going to break me, no way. I wonder if Condit was flashing on the interview with Chung when he said this, or was he thinking of that last rape-torture session with Mikey in Rock Creek Park? Sounds to me like maybe the latter. Shades of OJ: "Sometimes, I felt like I was the battered husband" -- "Sometimes, I dreamed about killing her, Ship." Very interesting.

You know your right, Gary, it's a big conspiracy. It doesn't have anything to do with your actions with the police dept.

Seems like it wasn't Connie, but Chandra, who "went into a daze, and just lost it." Lost everything, including her life. To which Condit says, screw her.
But what on earth does this have to do with Russia, or Putin? Only one thing: just as if a politician being interviewed about his recent trip to Russia, would be expected to come clean and admit he HAD made such a trip--- similarly, a politician being interviewed about his relationship to Chandra ought to have admitted he DID have one!
And just as in the one case, the interviewER (Chung) in her astonishment would have had to just keep pressing him to admit the trip, similarly she had no choice but to just keep pressing him to admit the affair.
No way would he. So, he said, Chung is just a nasty little gossip. Only interested in my personal travel itinerary. Only interested in my sex life. Only interested in what was plain as the nose on his face, that he was trying to deny.
Really, the reason he flunked the Chung interview is, he was trying so hard to avoid saying "Chiang." As in Joyce Chiang.

Condit's sexual appetite seems like an international sampler
platter of deviance. First it's a young Jewish girl, then big black
Jamaican's in leather and shaved bodies, now it's "screw Connie Chung".
Midgets and circus people watch out, your about all thats left, baaaaa.

Let's start a campaign to make this the poorest-selling issue of Esquire in the history of the magazine.

"It's mean, but screw her, you know? To be honest, if people look closely at the interview, they'll see where she went into a daze, she just lost it," Condit said. Actually Connie is usually in a daze since she sleepwalks through most of her interviews (such as with William Shatner last night) but even with Connie's robotic repetition of her script questions, Condit still lost it.

"I know what they want me to say. They want me to say that I did her."Gary, what does did mean to you?
Usually, it is the vernacular term for laying with a woman... but I think you mean it as tying up a loose end, a whack or a snuff... if I may be so bold.
Did you did Chandra? No Gary, you didn't, but someone you know sure did.

...the media wanted him to say he "did" slain... The degradation of the English language continues.
It's "slay", not "slain".

Condit may be responsible for a lot of things and may even be directly or indirectly involved in her death. But I say to you before jumping on the media band wagon, the media is quite capable of making and breaking a person almost at their whim. They are mighty powerful but also mighty biased.
I find that most of them are lazy and really just in a hurry to break at story at the expense of the truth. It is all about money, power, greed, sensationalism and manipulating their readers rather than getting to the truth.I have found from expierence that the truth is farther from the media and the Court Houses of this contry than anywhere else on earth.Regardless of what one thinks there are no checks and balances with the media or with politics and that is why America is headed downward, spiraling out of control.

Can you picture Edward G. Robinson sitting there with the lights shining in his face as he barks out those lines?
Another few years it'll be possible to emulate any actor from any period in time using software that has them work off a virtual script. I say let's have Edward G. Robinson's "character" play the part of Condidit when the make the movie.
