"I doubt anything will come of this. Klayman has had a couple of minor court victories, but has he ever dealt anyone a knockout punch? He's like the guy in the Beatles song who "disagrees and never wins." His litigation just seems to go on and on without ever accomplishing anything. Correct me if I'm wrong."

Klayman cannot command the court system. Judicial Watch has done everything within their power to garner justice for the wronged. Judicial Watch's work with the discovery process and FOIA request process has achieved some tremendous results.

When it comes to criminal charges against the Clinton's and their political cronies, you should be holding the Justice Department responsible for that, for they are the ones with the power and authority to do this. Do not blame Judicial Watch for the Justice Department's shortcomings and mediocrity. John Ashcroft has the important responsibility to investigate and prosecute the crimes of Chinagate, but what has he done about it? The answer is nothing, and yet many people here choose to wrongly blame Klayman and JW, who are the only people around who are doing something about these crimes.

No wonder the obviously liberal non-profits got away with murder, while conservative-leaning organizations were removed from tax-exempt status.

DOCUMENTS NAIL IRS ON POLITICAL AUDITS

IRS Documents Show Clinton White House, Democrat Congress Involved in Attempted Audit of Judicial Watch

Documents Turned Over Four Years Late

(Washington, DC) Judicial Watch, the public interest group that investigates and prosecutes public corruption, announced today that the IRS released documents showing a direct link between an attempted audit of Judicial Watch and contacts with the IRS by the Clinton White House and key Democrats in Congress. As a result of court litigation, the documents were turned over to Judicial Watch under the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) on July 8, 2001, nearly four years late. As Robert Novak reported in his column today (“IRS reveals smoking gun,” by Robert Novak, July 29, 2002, available by clicking here), included in the documents was a copy of a email to President Clinton at the White House which stated:

I have received solicitation for funds and a questionnaire from Larry Klayman, of Judicial Watch. They have targeted you and the Vice President...I think you and your wife have done a great job in spite of the partisan attacks against both of you.

The IRS documents show the email, which was sent to the IRS Commissioner Charles Rossotti’s office by the Clinton White House, was received by the IRS on or about September 22, 1998. Judicial Watch’s first audit notice was dated two weeks later, on October 6, 1998.

The IRS also finally released various “complaints” about Judicial Watch from Democrat members of Congress. Most notable was a February 26, 1999 letter from Congressman Charles Rangel, who signed his letter as “Ranking Democrat” on Committee on Ways and Means letterhead. The Rangel letter also mentions Congressman Frost, another House Democrat who has served as Democratic Caucus Chairman. Marcus Owens, who ran the Exempt Organizations Division for the IRS, signed the responses to Rangle and Frost, noting that their materials were being sent to the IRS office “with examination jurisdiction” over Judicial Watch. The Owens letter clearly, and improperly, implies that Judicial Watch is under IRS examination. The IRS attempts to audit Judicial Watch continue under the Bush Administration. Judicial Watch is now seeking relief in federal court from the politically-motivated attempted audits. The Bush Justice Department, under the direction of Stuart Gibson (a liberal Democrat-supported officeholder from Northern Virginia), continues to defend “the Clinton IRS” in court.

“Will someone in the Bush Administration sit up, take notice, and stop the illegal politically-motivated IRS audits of Judicial Watch and other perceived adversaries of the discredited Clinton administration? Will there be an investigation into why these smoking gun documents were illegally withheld for nearly four years? Will IRS officials, such as Clinton-appointed Commissioner Charles Rossotti, be subject to criminal investigations? These are questions that Attorney General John Ashcroft must answer affirmatively if he is to uphold his oath to enforce the law,” stated Judicial Watch Chairman and General Counsel Larry Klayman.

So then tell us whom shall we count on to expose and investigate Clinton's WH, IRS, and DOJ machinations with respect to various and sundry violations of the law? The GOP?? WHO THEN??

Apparently, the research and balls of Judicial Watch is our only shot at exposing the ex-POTUS and his aiders and abetters.

Pardon me, but wasn't there 'evidence' of IRS audits of Clinton enemies BEFORE, during the Clinton administration???

That is what I thought ... is there something new I'm not aware of??

Exactly, and this is ultimately the hypocrisy of the Klayman bashers here. They will sit and complain over situations Klayman cannot control, but will not hold people like Ashcroft and Bush accountable, when they refuse to investigate these crimes.

Then I find it hypocritical that whenever I mentioned that this audit of Judicial Watch was politically motivated, people like you said there was no evidence out there to support this claim.

You guys kept asking for evidence supporting Klayman's claims and now he gives it to you. Judicial Watch has a legitimate reason to right this audit--any responsible American citizen would fight this encroachment upon our rights.

Your posse has often stated that the audit of Judicial Watch is not only justified, but needed in order to prove that Judicial Watch has done nothing wrong by means of their financial transactions.

Now that there is proof showing that the Clintons did have the IRS audit their political enemies, you are side-stepping previous claims. That is hypocrisy.

Non-profit organizations should never be coerced into silence because of their ideological beliefs

Exactly! So lets see Klaymans books to find out if he really is a non-profit! His wife makes 90k a year? How much does his dog make?

But I am sure the people at Judicial Watch are very nice™

Judicial Watch's work with the discovery process and FOIA request process has achieved some tremendous results.

There is a difference between using the FOIA to GET information and using the FOIA to get information AND doing something ABOUT it.

Klayman and Clintons are friends.

But I am sure the people at Judicial Watch are very nice™

No .. I don't think so

You gotta be kidding me. I'm sure there are plenty of activist freepers that complain about JW only because their efforts have been more successful. Right? Right? Hellloooo?

"Exactly! So lets see Klaymans books to find out if he really is a non-profit! His wife makes 90k a year? How much does his dog make?"

So this is your defense of this politically motivated IRS audit? Your argument supporting these illegal actions by the IRS is sickening.

It is clearly obvious that Judicial Watch's records are so clean, that neither the Clinton White House, nor the IRS, could find any other reasonable exuse, besides truly devious political motivation, to audit Judicial Watch.
