My parents ranch in SE Colorado and I remember in the mid 70's several cases of cattle reported to be mutilated. One morning my Dad came upon a dead Holstein heifer in his silage pit while packing. Called the vet and sheriff, nothing conclusive? Varmints/coyotes? Who knows? I don't think my Dad is a kook, although he is in the sun alot. During that time period, several of our neighbors reported seeing "helicoptors" that ran silent with "strobing" multi-color lights. Interesting to note that 1-2 years after this activity peaked, the US army confiscated 300,000 acres from our neighbors to develop the Pinon Canyon Maneuver Site. Coincidence? Don't know.
