Most email programs (if you aren't hotmail or yahoo mail) can be configured to bounce a lot of the unwanted stuff. Even web-based mail can be read through some email programs. I use a program called
mail washer to pre-screen all my mail for both viruses and unwanted junk. It also can be configured to bounce a lot of junk.
