Don't do that to me when I have a glass of Diet Dr. Pepper in my hand!!

Ohio! I got an e-mail today, and I'm not positive this is true, but the message was that the manufacturers of Dr. Pepper have taken the "under God" out of the Pledge of Allegiance, which is printed on the cans (or somewhere else--can't remember), because it might "offend" someone.

The e-mail was asking for a boycott of Dr. Pepper! Anyone know if this is true?

Do a search on FR for Dr Pepper. There were a few threads about this a while back. If I remember correctly Dr Pepper said they left the words out due to can space. You can choose to believe them or not.

Yes it was true. I hate Dr. P anyway, so I already had a boycott going on. But I have encouraged others. They used the "can space" excuse, but c'mon. Any moron knows that type can be made smaller, arrangement of the words can be different, etc. Just another example of "creeping liberalism."

Google is your friend.

A google search for

yields at the top of the hit list Dr. Pepper left God out of the pledge of allegiance-Fiction!, which tries to explain both sides.

Apparently a post Sept 11 can had the Statue of Liberty and the words "One nation...indivisible".

One could read this either way so far as I can see.
