Google is your friend.

A google search for

yields at the top of the hit list Dr. Pepper left God out of the pledge of allegiance-Fiction!, which tries to explain both sides.

Apparently a post Sept 11 can had the Statue of Liberty and the words "One nation...indivisible".

One could read this either way so far as I can see.

Thank you, both, for the information! TPC, I see that they are trying to present both sides, but IMO there is only one side and they are trying too hard to be PC. Looks like they're protesting too much...

Admiral, I agree with you that it is just another case of "creeping liberalism," and it makes me sad. Good thing we don't drink Dr. Pepper in this house. Wouldn't you just love it if some large corporation would have the nerve, guts, moral fortitude, whatever...to really stand behind a belief in God, and publicize it on all its merchandise? Wow, I'm calling daughter #3, who just started working for PizzaHut Corporation.....

I've been thinkin' some more about this Dr Pepper issue, and I'm afraid I was a little too hard on the company. I'm not sure exactly when this all happened, but it may be that Dr Pepper initiated this patriotism campaign, not knowing that the "under God" court decision, and the outrage that followed, would even happen.

If this truly was an effort to focus on patriotism, and the company was not deliberately leaving out the two words, I retract my criticism. I see what you mean now about being able to read it either way.
