A day in the life of President Bush (photos) 7/26/02

This morning, President Bush, joined by firefighters and police officers, emergency personnel and local public officials, addressed members of Congress in the Dwight D. Eisenhower Office Buiding at the White House on the subject of the Homeland Security Department, stressing the need for managerial flexibility as a key to it's success. This afternoon in a ceremony in the East Room of the White House, he honored the anniversary of the Americans with Disabilities Act, calling on Congress to fund his New Freedom Initiative budget requests.

Last night House and Senate negotiators agreed on a bill that would give President Bush fast tracked trade promotion authority, and this afternoon, he made a trip to Capitol Hill to thank them, and to urge House Republicans to back the bill. Enjoy your Daily Dose of Dubya!!

Great Pictures Ohio!! I love that one where he's leaning down to the woman in the wheelchair. (Post 13) He is such a sensitive and caring man; folks who meet him must feel SO good!!

Yeah, I read that earlier. Very impressive.

The problem is that there is no way we can pressure/force/persuade the networks to give this any play at all.

And that is a big problem. Because in spite of the inroads of Fox News, talk radio and the internet, a lot of people who aren't junkies like us, still get their news from Tom, Peter and the gang.

Those people have no shame and we can't seem to force them to feel any. Very frustrating!

Tonight's Psalm is 40 - Looks like David coming out from his doldroms in Psalms 38 and 39......as the President today seems to be bringing the welcome rain and leading the country out of its summer doldrums - thanks, in no small part, I am sure, to the prayers of many being said for him and for our country every day.....by faithful believers the world over! Thank you, dear God, for the goodness and truth and righteousness You bring to every situation, trial, and tribulation, that we commit wholeheartedly to Your Care!

Psalm 40

Faith Persevering in Trial </>

To the Chief Musician. A Psalm of David.
1 I waited patiently for the LORD;
        And He inclined to me,
        And heard my cry.
        2He also brought me up out of a horrible pit,
        Out of the miry clay,
        And set my feet upon a rock,
        And established my steps.
        3He has put a new song in my mouth--
        Praise to our God;
        Many will see it and fear,
        And will trust in the LORD.

        4Blessed is that man who makes the LORD his trust,
        And does not respect the proud, nor such as turn aside to lies.
        5Many, O LORD my God, are Your wonderful works
        Which You have done;
        And Your thoughts toward us
        Cannot be recounted to You in order;
        If I would declare and speak of them,
        They are more than can be numbered.

        6Sacrifice and offering You did not desire;
        My ears You have opened.
        Burnt offering and sin offering You did not require.
        7Then I said, "Behold, I come;
        In the scroll of the book it is written of me.
        8I delight to do Your will, O my God,
        And Your law is within my heart."

        9I have proclaimed the good news of righteousness
        In the great assembly;
        Indeed, I do not restrain my lips,
        O LORD, You Yourself know.
        10I have not hidden Your righteousness within my heart;
        I have declared Your faithfulness and Your salvation;
        I have not concealed Your lovingkindness and Your truth
        From the great assembly.

        11Do not withhold Your tender mercies from me, O LORD;
        Let Your lovingkindness and Your truth continually preserve me.
        12For innumerable evils have surrounded me;
        My iniquities have overtaken me, so that I am not able to look up;
        They are more than the hairs of my head;
        Therefore my heart fails me.

        13Be pleased, O LORD, to deliver me;
        O LORD, make haste to help me!
        14Let them be ashamed and brought to mutual confusion
        Who seek to destroy my life;
        Let them be driven backward and brought to dishonor
        Who wish me evil.
        15Let them be confounded because of their shame,
        Who say to me, "Aha, aha!"

        16Let all those who seek You rejoice and be glad in You;
        Let such as love Your salvation say continually,
        "The LORD be magnified!"
        17But I am poor and needy;
        Yet the LORD thinks upon me.
        You are my help and my deliverer;
        Do not delay, O my God.

Did anyone see the Letter that Mark Foley (my congress critter) wrote to all the alphabet network clymers about smoking gun on Rubin, and imploring them to cover it?

It was a GREAT letter, but I'm not holding my breath waiting for the Big 3 to spend any time on it. If they DO end up actually looking into the story, I'll be as pleased as punch!

He sure did for all the good it will do. I emailed the three major networks' news divisions in support of Foley. That should put the fear of God in them, lol.

It is so corny but sincere that it makes me smile.

Every time he says it, I always think how proud the person must be to get that little nod and "good job" from the President. I know if it were me, I would be thrilled!

Thank you for taking the time to communicate with the big 3 presstitute entities. (They do not deserve the title: News Channel). You have done more than you know to strike a blow for the truth!

Yes, I agree. We are all jaded when it comes to having any hope network news will report anything negative about the Clinton administration. Speaking of the unspeakable, there is a thread up stating Hillbilly are asking for reimbursment of $3.5 million for their legal fees relating to the independent counsel investigation of Whitewater. Talk about nerve.

That couple wrote the book on nerve.

In fact, that should be the title of both their books.

Nerve and More Nerve.
