No matter who was in the house, the father left Casey for *a few moments* while he went to the bathroom. The creep had to have grabbed her, covered her mouth, and ran, in those few seconds.
One of my kids once left his bike at the door while he got the key to the basement from me to lock it up. A minute at the most. But the bike was gone, stolen, when he got back out. My anger wasn't at my son, but the thief who was just waiting, who was just there with nothing more to do but swoop down and steal.
We can blame the parents in hindsight all we like. I can say truthfully I'm more careful, more paranoid, than these parents were. But he went to take a pee. He didn't neglectfully leave her. He left for a moment, and no one could *expect* anything to happen in a moment. He didn't do anything wrong in that moment. Maybe in other things he did. But not in that moment.
We don't expect evil to move so swiftly as to swoop down as we're going to get the key to prevent the evil, or while we run to the bathroom, or let a kid play in front of the house. Now we know it can happen.
But the parents didn't *DO* it, and it is not the parents' *fault* that an evil ghoul was there just waiting to pounce! They know now, and so do we, that evil is always ready to prey on us. They doesn't make it *our* fault.
*IT IS NOT THE PARENTS' FAULT THAT A SLIMEY GHOUL SNATCHED AND KILLED THEIR DAUGHTER,* no matter what the character of the parents!!!! It is ENTIRELY the ghoul's doing!

Because they know that if they do anything, Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton will decend upon St. Louis and bring their rent-a-mob along to insure the cops get at least twice the sentence this child rapist-murderer will get. Oh please, this guy is white, Jesse and Al don't give a damn if a white person is harmed, as a matter of fact, they relish at the thought.

When I had my three kids, times had already changed and they were never allowed at that age to play in the front yard without me being right there. Just out of curiosity, was there ever a time -- if only for a minute -- when you simply weren't there? You know, things like the phone rings, the buzzer goes off on the oven timer, dinner's ready and has to be taken off the stove. Stuff you had to take care of right then, but would only take a minute? I know my wife and I did.
Call me an overprotective mother. . .
Hey, there's a lot worse things to be called. Especially these days. That's getting to be quite a phrase, "these days." And I don't blame you one bit.
As one of the posters who responded to my original comments to you said, it gets so we end up being the prisoners behind iron bars and locked gates and the bad guys end up being free to go and do whatever they want. O.K. We do what we must, to keep our children safe. But I do think we can easily overdo it and take the joy out of life with our zeal to protect them.
I lived in a foothill town of SoCal but even then I was very leary of what I observed of some of the people that went up our street thinking we were the road to Oak Glen and stopped to ask directions.
And I live there now, and have for many years. Let's just say, you were right to be leary then, and would be even more so now.
Just put me in the category that every parent should be overprotective when it comes to the safety of their children.
Dennis Prager addressed this issue today on his radio program. I can see his point in being overprotective to the point of taking the joy out of life, but it would be cold comfort to loosen the reigns, so to speak, if our kids end up dead.
But, we live in an age when our children can be stolen right out of the beds, sound asleep in the dead of night. It's already happened, and more than once. How do we protect them when they're not safe at home and in bed?
And that is a very scary question. Even more so is the disturbing realization that sometimes, there may be nothing we can do. . .

It's a damn sad time in this country when children can't play outside in their own yards without the risk of being grabbed. You're 100% right in what you've said, we don't need prisons for our children, we need prisons for the sick SOB's that harm them (prisons or death).

Perhaps you meant "libertines"???
Libertines are usually amoral people.

Shall our FR caravan make a stop in St. Looie on our way to CA? Yes.
May God help us. We're falling fast.

If the Samantha Runion killer gets any jail time at all, you can bet it will be overturned on appeal, or life imprisonment is really legalese for time served plus six months. He'll be on the street some enough. Nope, I think you're very very wrong.

I grew up not far from Valley Park. They had a quarry down that way which was good for swimming and fishing. It saddens me that the world of my youth has become so dangerous. We would be gone for 20 hours and nobody worried that we came to a bad end. Of course' that was more than 40 years ago. My heart aches for the parents and my prayers go out for the little girl. People are quick to criticize these parents but it seems that they were just having a regular old life of strife and trying to get back together. They drew a wild card and it turned out bad.

How many of you are old enough to have noticed the difference in the behavior of children since the government took parenting out of the hands of the parents, and children took the role of, I am the one in control, don't do any thing or say the wrong word, or I will have you thrown into jail. I can do as I d---well please, an you can do nothing about it. I can say any rotten word I want, and you can not do any thing about it. The government did not take parenting out of the hands of parents, most gave it up willingly. Your children will will take control if you let them.
I raised six kids and not one of them thought they had me over a barrel. Oh' they tried, but I was their father not their friend. A couple of times they tried to call child services, I dailed the number for them.
Todays parents for the most part deserve that ill-mannered little brat they put in baby prison (day care) by letting some $6.00 an hour day care center worker raise them.

I'm just baffled that these parents would allow some transient into their home, let alone SLEEP in the house! Did the father know this guy? What in the hell were these brain-dead people thinking? This baffles me also. The way I understood it, the family went acrosss the st to a friends house and the transient was staying there also.
The grandfather of the little girl said (before the news of her being found), he didn't trust this "homeless person, there was something strange about him." I don't understand why the family even stayed and slept together across the st and with a transient person there yet. Strange.
Prayers being said for that precious little child in heaven, safely surrounded by God.

Drugs put people in situations where they are under the influence of a chemical meant to blow their minds, the pornography brings together those interested in it - same as FR brings conservatives together. Bonds are formed, information spread and they give each other permission to act out their desires. The general acceptance of evil in our society gives license to a life of any depravity they chose to dream up. Those are my thoughts, EXACTLY.

What the hell is happening out there? Look around today in our world, EVIL is flourishing.

He doesn't look normal. Can you say Muuuuuutant!!!!
He is so creepy looking. Looks like he is from the very shallow end of the gene pool.

She (Samantha's Mother) doesn't think it is normal to not allow a child to play outside their own home, in their own neighborhood, and does not blame herself, or her Mother. She said people can't live in fear and keep their children locked up. No offense to her, God only knows how she is suffering, but I tend to disagree with that. There are a lot of things that we as a society should be able to do, but we are living in different times and precautions we never would have had to take yrs ago, now need to be taken. We should be allowed to walk down streets at night and not fear for our lives etc. but we cannot.
More people are getting alarm systems installed in their homes than ever before. So, you see, we DO have to take more steps and not exactly lock our children up, but we DO have to take more drastic steps of watching our children, they are worth more to us than our Valuable, jewels, money etc that we take steps to protect.

We should also hold gladiator arenas again. Bring them into the arena to fight lions and what not. Maybe we should put Christians in there too. Ya think?

*IT IS NOT THE PARENTS' FAULT THAT A SLIMEY GHOUL SNATCHED AND KILLED THEIR DAUGHTER,* no matter what the character of the parents!!!! It is ENTIRELY the ghoul's doing!Out of fear, out of anger, out of grief and confusion, we aren't placing the blame where it belongs--and that's on the person or persons who committed the crime.

But the parents didn't *DO* it, and it is not the parents' *fault* that an evil ghoul was there just waiting to pounce! Kids need some freedom anyhow. You can't just keep them locked up all the time while the perverts and murderers run free. Liberals seem to like the good people caged up and they take the side of the evil ones every time.

Have you been away for a while? Quite a while, as a matter of fact. Had to go check out the neighbor's new pool, and adult beverages and Super Soaker duel wait for no man.
