Ooo, I would love to see the Torch go down in flames, but everone is so corrupt I don't think it will happen. Best I am hoping for is that Torch get's burnt enough to give Forrester a good chance to let my state have a Senator I am not ashamed of.

Not to worry, our gay governor will hook him up if he is expelled from the Senate.
I've given this story in the past about torricelli:
I was a young kid interested in politics when torricelli came on the scene in Jersey. I had asked an uncle of mine, who was very active and prominent in Democratic politics in Jersey, what he thought of the man. His exact words:
"He's a scumbag. He'd sell his mother for a vote."
Well - my uncle has since passed but, I always appreciated his candor and, judgment of character. By the way - he was a principled Democrat. He ran Democrats for Nixon,Democrats for Reagan, and,Democrats for Bush in Jersey. He is missed in the family.

The newspaper reported that the government official also said the committee has financial records and witness testimony suggesting that Chang gave cash to Torricelli to pay for a $3,816 Scottish grandfather clock in 1997. Let me count the layers of hearsay and likely sources of inaccuracy and/or intentional falsehood in the above-quoted statement:
1. The newspaper might have been a Moonie outfit that misquoted or misunderstood the government official.
2. The government official is probably a Repukie political appointee with an axe to grind against the Torch. If the Repukie's name is "Fleischer" he is the world's biggest liar.
3. Financial records and witness testimony -- Why not provide a copy of the records and a direct quote from the "witness" testimony, so that we know who he/she is, for example? Was the "witness" under oath at the time he/she made his/her "testimony"?
4. Does the grandfather clock even exist? If not, then why not say so?

Torricelli's spokeswoman said allegations about those gifts, a television and an antique clock, are false. Torricelli says the allegations are false. That's good enough for the committee. Dems lie because it works.
Carl Cameron on Fox News Channel is reporting the FBI searched the Torchs house and removed several items including the $1600 television in question ...

Why not let Chang testify in person? Too afraid of the clintonesqe corruption that plagues the dimocRATs?
I think it's a genetic thing with these clowns.
I say we need to go after Mr. Goldman Sachs himself, the other "honorable" NJ Senator Mr. Corzine. Talk about a pump and dump crook. They had a "strong buy" on Enron from $84 all the way down to $.85.

The TV set is one side and the flip side is the receipts for purchase. Apparently they have both and the Torch testified he received no gifts.
Checkmate!

1. The newspaper might have been a Moonie outfit that misquoted or misunderstood the government official. Wow!! You really have to stretch the facts when you call the official house organ of the ultraleft, The New York Times (!), a "Moonie outfit!!!!" I guess all the reporting by the NYTimes should now be suspect.
Financial records and witness testimony -- Why not provide a copy of the records and a direct quote from the "witness" testimony, so that we know who he/she is, for example? Was the "witness" under oath at the time he/she made his/her "testimony"?
I might remind you that the only barrier to full disclosure and testimony appears to be the "Ethics" Committee itself. Why do witnesses have to ask to testify by written request to the committee?
The government official is probably a Repukie political appointee with an axe to grind against the Torch. If the Repukie's name is "Fleischer" he is the world's biggest liar.
Well, I guess we will have to just wait and see who the the government official (no mention of "appointee") is before we begin the name calling rant. Just to be fair, of course. I can see how you might sour on "appointees:" Mary Jo White was one, wasn't she?

Well, you have to weigh that evidence against whether Tiny Tom wants to lose control of the Senate even before the election. We should have a definitive ruling about the 12th of Never.

"our gay governor"The Governor of my state,Calif., immediately came to mind.He may not be gay,but he is a skinny manipulative twerp ,and a tad bit effeminate, certainly his voice is weaker than he is skinny.I thought of "Red" Davis right away.I'm waiting to freep that guy before the vote in November.

You are so ignorant that I feel sorry for you. It must scare you a bit now to know that the FBI now has the TV that "doesn't exist"...when will you ever learn that you are in a party full of corrupt liars? You should be so lucky as to have a President of Bush's honor - it will never happen - clinton ruined the Democrat party - you're just too stupid and brainwashed to realize it.

Sen. Robert Torricelli I don't understand why it's taking so long to to find him guilty.Traficant defends himself and loses.Old Bob T. has a load of money and buys lawyers who pull #42's moves and keep putting it off.Why this isn't on the news on a regular basis,as Traficants case was is beyond ridiculous and totally hypocritical. Is there a better word for the TV and Print media?

Yep. Remember that story when McGreevey broke his foot? Well, as it turns out, he was in Cape May with his boyfriend, the same guy he tried to install as the Homeland Security Director for New Jersey, when the "mishap" occurred. His wife needed to be rushed down to Cape May to accompany him to the hospital to make it look legit to the press. I'm sure they know the deal but,the press covers for the RATS here too.
You heard it here first.
