I really don't know for sure but think the problem is in the basic mental attitude and approach to life Democrats exhibit. As Thomas Sowell has said and written, Democrats actually believe they are anointed, or at least their leadership believe it, and they are not held to the same standards as the rest of us. As a group, Democrats seem to not only lack character and ethics but they defend and protect any of their leaders from any criticism.

The Democrats put someone unqualified, Madeline Albright, in a position of power and were surprised when she could not do the job right. Another example, Jocelyn Elders was appointed by Clinton and her methods were so horrible that most conservatives went nuts on her decisions and positions. These same people then have the gall to question someone as qualified and experienced as Condoleezza Rice.

Republicans, caught doing something wrong or illegal, resign from elected office. We have seen that over and over. Democrats do not believe they should be held accountable under any conditions so they refuse to leave even when convicted of crimes or caught doing something wrong. Democrats believe the public will forget, or that enough time will pass that they can get away with anything they want to do. Sadly, this has proven to be true all too often.

As to women in particular, think about it. Democrats do not celebrate nor respect the individual. Only the group is paramount to Democratic politics. Therefore, any one individual is worthless to them as long as they are perceived as "caring" for the whole group. That's why a Paula Jones has no standing but feminism does.

As a old hand Russian linguist, I am compelled to state very plainly that the governing mentality of the Democrats is specifically what I observed among the elite Nomenklatura of the CPSU. They are communists. You are correct that this is inflammatory language, and it is a compounded tragedy that this truth cannot be uttered. It is nonetheless precise.

Freepers, on the whole, are now anomalous in the body politic. Their accurate understanding of the threat to liberty posed by the Democrats is unfortunately shared by a minority of the electorate.
