I've seen polls (by Zogby of all people!) that show Muslims more opposed to abortion than even Catholics.
Muslims are much more socially conservative than the average American Jew on most issues. Few, unfortunatly, see past the blinders unfotunatly imposed by 9/11 to realize this.
Yeah, bro 9/11 has been a disaster for the move of American Arabs and Muslims into the ranks of the Republican party. 8 years of Clinton/Gore had primed this community for entry into Republican politics, neutralizing the liberal Jewish vote in the big states.
Then, 9/11... What to do? Going to decades to recover the positive feeling for the Republicans.
