Why didn't they call a certified expert ? What determines certified ?

THEY DID! The bug expert the defense called today was certified.

I am not real sure what determines being certified. First I would think they would have to have a certain degree in entomology.

The requirements to become a BCE are as follows: an academic degree in entomology or a related science, experience as a practicing entomologist, a passing mark on a general qualifying examination, and a passing mark on at least one specialty examination.
