The U.S. Forest Service told one of its tenants that his 20-foot flagpole is unauthorized and has to go.
David Knickerbocker has flown the American flag on the pole next to his summer cabin in the El Dorado National Forest for nearly two decades. He leases a quarter-acre lot.

How disgusting, now even our own government is telling 40 yr veterans they can't fly an American flag as it's intended to be flown.

"No putting holes where
Native Americans might have once lived."
Disgusting.

"If you're putting holes in the ground where Native Americans once resided, that needs an archaeological review," Forest Service spokesman Frank Mosbacher said.

If you're putting holes in the grounds where Native Americans once resided, that needs an archaelogical review My God What the F(CENSORED)! To use that logic every building in America is in violation! This Government needs a total scouring from top to bottom! I believe that I am living in Terry Gilliam's movie "Brazil"!

I wonder what sacrileges the native Americans perform daily on the 'Kennewick' people.

The Forest Service needs to go back to deciding whether it's Smokey THE Bear or just Smokey Bear, and leave decent citizens alone.

"If you're putting holes in the ground where Native Americans once resided, that needs an archaeological review," Forest Service spokesman Frank Mosbacher said. What do they do with sewage? Do they have a septic tank or an outhouse? Will both be outlawed as well?

"If you're putting holes in the ground where Native Americans once resided, that needs an archaeological review," Great! Let's ban the digging of holes in all of North American because somebody may have briefly rested on a rock there 800 years ago.

Frank didn't go there for the hunting.

The Forest Service can stick their letter where the sun don't shine.
Knickerbocker is going to win this one. Or, I'm leaving this country.
To: Brytani
Perhaps the USFS will order the flagpoles at Ground Zero and their headquarters in Washington DC removed since those were traditionally lands of the Manhattas and Potomac peoples!

I bet this would not have happen if he was flying the rainbow flag, or the flag of some third-world country like Puerto Rico.

The Park Service is staffed by IDEALISTS. They make no connection with everyday life. A few years ago, they took over a Monument in South Boston called Dorchester Heights. The city of Boston used to manage the site. When the City used to patrol the area, they left the teenagers alone who gathered to drink beer on the steps of the Monument. When the Park Service took over, they confiscated the beer and chased the kids away. Most of the neighbors think of the Park as a place to take their dogs to relieve themselves. They think the $3,000,000 recently spent for landscape improvements is a big waste. Don't tell that to the Dudley Doright's, however, they may take you off to reeducation camp.

If the pole has been there for two decades I'm thinking that removing it would be digging a new hole. Better order that review.
I'm never surprised when people from the government say really stupid things and mean them.

Not a thinble full of common sense among both the Forest Service and National Park Service!

The Park Service is staffed by United Nation guideline obeying idiots! All USA National Parks are owned by the UN and MUST obey their guidlines.

I believe that would be Congressman Pombo's (R) district. I'm sure he'd like to hear about it since he has a "Flag Request" page on his
website.
Below is his email address if you'd like to give him your opinion of the Forest Service's decision:
