Where does one go that they can feel safe and will not have to deal with this invasion anymore. I am looking for a smaller town with some type of employment. Friendly neighbors and a little bit of fly fishing if possible!! : )WestCoastGal, your post could have been written by me. I am looking for the exact same thing. (Although not necessarily fly fishing! I might like it; never tried it! LOL) I want a place that's big enough to have apartments and jobs, but has more of a small town feel than LA. A safer place, without the illegal invasion, and not likely to be invaded anytime soon. (All it takes is five years, tops, for an area to be ruined. There's lots of places that are better than LA right now, but within five years will be as bad as LA.) I prefer warmer weather, but will sacrifice on that account if I have to.
I fear the place I search for does not exist in this country anymore. In years past, many Californians have escaped to WA, OR, CO, NV, etc., only to find that the illegal invasion has followed them to their new states.
If you find anything, Freepmail me! :-)

I don't think land mines would do. They don't have a problem with being killed by heat in summer, the cold in the winter, smugglers and the Mexican military so I don't think they would have a problem with being killed by land mines

I'm against putting the military on the border as well yet I support the idea of citizens patrolling the border. There is a huge difference between an organization made up of people that want to enforce immigration laws and a military that is controlled by a beauracracy that doesn't have the stones to enforce immigration law in the first place.

The Border Patrol in El Centro Sector recieves a lot of support from the community. We try to respond to every citizen call we can. The average citizen has been an enormous help in apprehending illegal aliens. I would definitely like to see more people become involved. Most of the time it just takes a phone call.

Many people making their way north to the promised land don't have any concept of the hardships they will encounter crossing the Sonora Desert in June and July. Their handlers -- coyotes, smugglers -- tell them the highway is just a mile or so north of the border. It is actually 40 miles or more, depending on where they cross.
If we were to leave corpses rotting along the fences separating the two countries, things might change.
Can we do that? No. But something like that needs to be done. Lies are killing people.

Thanks. Great program. I hope it at least puts a dent in the problem.

I've been reading about some of them. Evidently that has become a major drug entry point through there. Or am I confusing you with another region?

The mexican immigrants who "move" here from mexico don't even want to learn english it seems. Unless move is a new code word for illegal alien.
Greeley Tribune
Power of speech
Story By Anne Cumming
Maria Martinez feels embarrassed having to rely on her daughter to get around Greeley. Simple trips to the post office and the grocery store take a lot of time and energy when you dont speak English. Her daughter helps her translate, but she wants to be able to venture out on her own.
Its a constant struggle, said Martinez, who moved to Greeley from Mexico last August with her husband and two children. My whole day is shut off. I cant get things done because I cant communicate what I need.
The struggle keeps Martinez coming back week after week to a new English as a Second Language class offered at her apartment complex, Plaza del Milagro, 2500 1st Ave.
Country singer Chad Brock sparked a debate in Greeley after saying at his Greeley Independence Stampede concert that immigrants should learn English and not expect Americans to adapt to their language and ways. In Greeley, stores display Spanish signs, and immigrants speak Spanish at home and in public.

West Virginia is one of the spots not seeing the invasion.

Knoxville, TN is not too bad, now.

The imperial valley is illegal central, isn't it? While passing through the area, about 80% of the radio stations were in Spanish. Are those frequencies coming from Mexico, or is that the result of illegal immigration?
To: DoughtyOne
No, you're right. I'm smack dab in the middle of things here in Sierra Vista.
DEA and BP have both found tunnels under the border in Nogales (west of here) and Douglas (east) that the smugglers use to move drugs. The tunnels are only a few hundred feet in length, and run between buildings on both sides of the border owned by the smugglers.

Sad. A man interested in preserving his country without violence is termed a "divider" while our great "uniter," Dubya, is doing all he can to bring this nation down. You said about what I was going to say so no need repeating it.
It's just a sad statement of the situation our nation is in when private citizens have to do the governments job of trying to protect us.
It makes you want to throw up.

The stations with the best reception come from Mexico. It may have to do with Mexico not having an FCC telling them how much power their stations can put out. We used to have a city patrol, which we no longer have. We still have an overworked plain clothes unit that work smuggling cases only. Illegals just running around town or shopping at Walmart have nothing to fear.
