"right in its heartland"!!!
The Islamic militants must have been logging on to Free Republic.
America's enemies know that "Liberals" are their enablers and that the decadent, "Liberal" enclaves of America are the best hope for the destruction of the U.S., the Free World, and Western Civilization.
The American Heartland is the greatest, strongest bastion of liberty, the American spirit, the American genius, the American Dream, and Western Civilization in the world.
If America's enemies can destroy the Heartland, they can destroy America. The "Liberal" enclaves are their allies.
America's enemies have every reason to encourage "Liberals", "Liberalism", and decadence. They are the enablers of those who would destroy America. They were the enablers of the September 11 Massacre.
The American spirit is alive and florishing in the Heartland!
No wonder America's enemies wish to attack "right in its heartland"!!! That's where America's strength, genius, and future are!
Those who wish to defend the United States would be wise to defend the Heartland--to encourage, nurture, and strengthen it--to elect public officials who will do so--
And to work to defeat decadence, "Liberals", "Liberalism", and "Liberal" politicians and public officials. They are the allies of America's enemies and are themselves inimical to the United States and all that it stands for.

"Mr. Hashemi Rafsanjani termed as 'impudent and insolent' President Bushs 12 July statement "Yep. They've been loggin on to Free Republic, all right.
How many times has it been said that George W. Bush is the quintessence of the American Heartland!?!!
To: Gemflint
That's right. Give the U.S. an excuse to topple your government. Smart move.

Informed Iranian political analysts said considering the position of the former president, who is also considered as the closest aid, friend and adviser of Ayatollah Ali Khameneh'i, the lamed leader of the Islamic regime, his threats must be taken "very seriously".
.. a clear reference to Ayatollah Khameneh'i and the conservatives he led..
What? Who wrote this?
Fruitcakes..
Look, if you Iranians are stupid enough to buy into Saddams line about the west out to crush Islam then fine, there is nothing we can do to cure your stupidity.. But know this, what he's doing is comperable to asking you to pull up a deck chair on the titanic when you don't have to be there in the first place..
It's the final gasps of a dying administration, it's pathetic and smacks of desperation.. Only a fool would buy into this propaganda (Gobels would be so jealous) and put their own people in harms way over Iraq and Saddam.
For all the excuses to the contrary, that's exactly what you are doing..

You stupid moron. Here's an article showing that the repressive regime is getting desperate because the Iranian masses are turning on them and becoming pro-American, and you want to nuke all of them? Provoke a much wider war when it may not be needed?
Gee, what's your heavy-handed solution for things you don't like here? Instead of instigating change through the voting booth, would you just nuke any state than has leaned Democrat in the past? Nuke California, instead of giving Simon a chance? Lots of California Freepers would prefer a more sane solution.
What a disgrace. You are certainly no professional medical doctor. A true doctor can analyze a problem and prescribe an appropriate treatment, not an overkill. You would whack off an arm because there is a wart on a finger.

The armored corps and brown water offensive forces of Iran developed since the Iraq Turkey Shoot, aka Desert Storm, is a real local power. We must mobilize our resources to actually wage this war on terrorist nation sponsors. 9/11 is all the motivation we need, but our will to vanquish our mortal enemies is in question.

Exactly.....if they would manage to get rid of the Heartland, well, America would cease to exist as we know it almost immediately.
To: Gemflint
Why is this statement not a declaration of war on the United States, and our government respond to it in kind?
To: Gemflint
"How can we face the world when our Judiciary let terrorists walking freely in the streets but place thinkers, journalists and intellectuals in prison because of their believes", he pointed out.Did Khatami really say that? Whoa, powderkeg time. I wouldn't look for the stock markets to move back up until the Euphrates showdown is concluded. Since the terrorists are the muscle over there, I see nothing short of a direct showdown with their govt's and armies as the only solution. The govt's and armies have to reform and go after the religious mafia over there. But with the mullahs indoctrinating a generation with hateful religious bigotry and ignorance, it seems there's no easy solution.

by answering its offensive right in its heartland...we've been warned, time to do racial profiling.

The USA govt is in a pickle. If they do nothing, they take the chance the enemy will take the fight to the USA. If they attack, it will undoubtably stregthen the Mullah's hand, at least in the short term as nationalistic instincts take hold. Perhaps it is best to use Iraq as the example for Iran to see.
