But what she said was absolutely true. Just go read all the threads defending Brian and Ruth Christine. To that bunch, the awful thing is that the authorities were alerted by "snooping" neighbors in their RV park.

Are you equating adult porn (people over 18 who get their nude pics taken) with child porn (kids under 18)?
I'm not saying you are..just clarifying..

Eek, this thread is moving so fast i must have missed it during the "green car/ green card" debate.

You said you'd never live in California...since we're discussing a horrid crime, that would lead one to believe you associate crime with California. Hello? Yep, I said I wouldn't and then said why. And what would lead you to believe that I associate crime with ONLY California? Hello?
As a matter of fact, I *did* live at Lake Elsinore for a time. Redlands for the most part. I'm in Northern California now but all our family still resides in Southern.
My sincerest sympathies to you and your family...

Oh, don't worry, Andy. Me and the gang are definitely looking out for you.

With the obvious decline of public education, I've even heard teachers using the same verbage. Not a barrio thing entirely.

Yes, in fact I own an old (75 years ?) edition of that book. Maybe I ought to go home a re-read it again tonight. A masterpiece.
But, I'd rather watch Steve McQueen in Papillon.

I hope they have found the right man. This child's death, for some reason, really hit me hard. I've read all the posts -- some asking if we would be so upset if it were a child of color -- and I think it was the picture of her. Sometimes the media only says a child was abducted. No pictures are posted. When you see the trusting and innocent eyes of a child and realize what their last moments on earth were like, it's almost more than the heart can bear no matter what color, shape or how comely.
I don't think this will know political boundaries. If it does, we are in a world of hurt. No matter what a jury of this guy's peers decides (by the way, how could you find a jury of "peers"?), if he's found guilty, he should be taken off the streets quickly and permanently.
Tonight say a prayer for all those involved, the parents, step parents, grand parents, neighborhood children, neighbors, the guy who found the body, the police and the judge and jury. I'd say a prayer for the suspect's mother, too. She's gonna' have a rough life here on out, and she probably doesn't really understand how the child she gave birth to could do such a horrifying thing.

Name of prison the Chateau d'If. Does the island that it's on have another name?
To: Mad_Tom_Rackham
I agree Tom, I am pretty damn sure that this is the guy...
To: Illbay
I wonder if another death would have been just fine with these people, as long as nobody dropped a dime on this guy.

I should know, because I'm from the South, where we all marry our cousins and have bad teeth...:-)WHAT? That's TRUE??????? Oh my gosh, I thought that was a joke of some sort. Wow.

O'reilly is dead wrong on the death penalty, he is staunchly opposed to it under any circumstances... I like Mr. O, but on this topic he's way off base, this bastard should be slaughtered in the slowest, most painful manner modern man can deviseDennis Prager has often talked about those who oppose the death penalty. He questions their morals of people like O'Reilly who have a blanket opposition to the death penalty. They are holding the life of a killer as precious and in doing so, cheapen the life of the victim...
[A]llowing all murderers to keep their lives diminishes the worth of human life. The way society communicates what it thinks about a crime is by the punishment it metes out. Yet opponents of capital punishment claim that taking a murderer's life reduces the worth of human life. This defies logic: If taking away a murderer's life reduces the worth of human life, taking away a rapist's freedom presumably reduces the value of freedom. But of course, the opposite is true. Taking away criminals' freedom is our only way of showing how much we value freedom.
He also addresses the issue of
how to implement a death sentence. He says that however one kills their victim, that's how they should be dispatched. "You torture to death, and you'll be tortured to death." were his words, if I remember correctly. I agree with this. Samantha's killer should be suffocated to death.

There are benefits to publicizing high crimes and misdemeanors.. (aside from ratings and profit) Can you guess what they are?
To: wimpycat; Brad's Gramma
LOL...hey Grammie...found your long lost cousin!
(sorry for the aside...a little humor moment...very little)

**Half of Riverside and San Berdoo are illegals**
Really?!
I grew up in Redlands...next door to San Bernardino. I would greatly appreciate seeing proven stats about that, willyone.

I'm impressed with your sleuthing. Yes, that sure is weird. You wonder if they are going to take some well-deserved heat for slapping this guy on the hand and turning him loose.
Spying on one's neighbor is a double-edged sword, but thanks to alert citizens, more lives may have been saved.
Maybe it takes arousing the public to near fever pitch to start the pendulum swinging the other way.

Thanks. That worked.
The last I heard, the media does not have this information. Sure appears to be the same guy.

OMG, This Avila works in Temecula! Look how close that puts him every day to where little Danielle Van Dam was taken-- probably from the little park near her home, that Fri afternoon, where she had run off to play after school, while her mother took the boys to the mall.

YAH--
It tore me to my soul.... I can't imagine, living with that image...would give me nightmares....
News media says, body left in a provocative manner...I's shocking that someone, whoever could be so SICK....to leave symbols of their sickness to encourage stimulation.....
