A great artform is being sacrificed on the altar of perversion.

I'm not really an opera fan; in fact, I hate it. But are you saying that the performances at the SFO are somehow sub-standard?

See post #19 on this thread for a partial answer. Gays have a real hard time acting straight which makes a lot of the drama laughable. And yes, the performances are often sub-standard because "artists" are chosen by qualifications other than their singing ability.

Also, roles sung by females in the modern era are being taken by counter-tenors, the modern equivalent of the castrati, males who had been castrated to preserve their treble voices. Gays are dizzy with excitement over the prospect of homoerotic performances where no women appear at all. In fact, this has already happened at some opera companies.

It has become stomach-turning to witness such modern performances and I am forced to choose shrewdly to avoid paying for a ticket that I later regret.
