Oh, that's OK, pretty soon the goon squads will wisen up and start having operatives go into bars to light up and then slap the owners with heavy fines for failing to stop it.

Hmmm...the ol' "Puff-n-Bust". Not a bad idea. Maybe ratchet up the penalties to include asset seizure of the offending establishment.

These petty little piecemeal bans are in place because the lawmakers don't have the guts to make smoking illegal, they know they'd be voted out in short order if they did. Prohibition only succeeded in a marked rise in crime, especially organized crime.

Prohibition only succeeded in a marked rise in crime, especially organized crime. Out of the bowels of Prohibition, grew a stronger liquor industry.

For a group that depends on people voting, politicians sure do not seem to understand basic human nature.

I don't know how the tobacco industry can get strong right now after having to shell out mega bucks for these stupid lawsuits.

....powerful fans blow away tell-tale scents of "smokin' in the boys room" and tin cans double as ashtrays in case of an unexpected visit by police. That's all any business needs: is a Big Ole Fan!
Or a big HEPA air purifier. Works wonders. And the prissy noses can't smell the smoke anymore, which is why they bit$ch in the first place.

Davis and all the "we have to save you from yourself" lawmakers in CA can kiss my ciggie loving butt.
I gotta tell ya, I had a stopover in the airport in Vegas this week. I thoroughly enjoyed being able to have a smoke without having to come back all the way through security. I love that lounge in there.

I would be more than happy to help my local watering hole with getting one of those filters.

One guy said that there are bumper stickers saying:
NEVADA: CALIFORNIAN'S SMOKING LOUNGE." heh!

They know that their junk science reports will scare the hell out of most voters and they will be able to get more tax money out of smokers. They know that this prohibition will also result in their pockets eventually getting filled with a little hush money too.

Of all places, Bella--Salt Lake City Airport has a smoking lounge (or two) in every wing of its massive complex. It's great! The first time I landed there I immediately started searching for the outside doors so I could go have a smoke. As I was walking down the hall, I thought I was seeing things when I saw a room with the wonderful words "SMOKING AREA" on a sign outside.
And then there's O'Hare in Chicago--which not only has NO smoking areas, but when I stepped outside to have a cigarette, no smoking was permitted OUTSIDE, as well! Friendly place. It really put me in a good mood.

I'm glad Nevada has the cajones to stand up to any nico-nazis they have in that state and tell them to kiss off.
To: Wolfie
But of course! The Bureau of Prevention of Vice and Promotion of Virtue needs to be able to do that so it can be well-funded enough to stamp out the evil smoke everywhere!
