Dad regards pledge case as his 'duty'

Of all the names he's been called in the past few weeks -- and there have been plenty -- Mike Newdow can't quite understand how someone could call him a bad father. Or a traitor.

Newdow is the Sacramento man who challenged the phrase "under God" in the Pledge of Allegiance -- and won.

I spend most of my time trying to see my daughter," he said. "People can call me anything they want, but I'm not a bad father." Well, lying about his daughter, to further his own agenda, doesn't make him father of the year.

The decision makes clear that Michael Newdow only claims he is an atheist, not his daughter. Moreover, the claim is based on his beliefs and a perceived violation of the Separation clause.

I think you're dead-on about the media distortion in this case.

If Daddy spent less time going to college, filing frivolous lawsuits all over the country, running some cockamamie church and getting his mug on TV, he might be able to spend more time with his daughter. It's all about him, him, him and how everything is everyone else's fault but his. Everyone's got the problems but him. Everyone else is misinformed and misguided but him. He's just doing his best, but they are standing in his way. God, but I hate whiners, especially male whiners, and you know what they're called, especially by other, non-whining men.

As far as I've heard, nobody is suing to terminate his parental rights.

You need to explain why the Appeals Court wrote, in their ruling:

"Newdow does not allege that his daughter's teacher or school district requires his daughter to participate in reciting the Pledge Rather, he claims that his daughter is injured when she is compelled to 'watch and listen as her state-employed teacher in her state-run school leads her classmates in a ritual proclaiming that there is a God and that our's (sic) is 'one nation under God.''"

Newdow did claim in his filing that his daughter was injured by the Pledge being recited in her presence.

Also, you are interpreting his move to be near his daughter in a kind way. However, considering his obsession with "under God," it sure is convenient that, by moving, he was able to file the case in the 9th District, the most liberal U. S. Appeals Court in the nation, where is would be more likely to see a favorable ruling.

This is a man who has purposefully reduced the number of hours he works as a physician so he can devote more time to fighting "under God" wherever he sees it. The motivation that drives this loon is NOT concern for his daughter. After all, look what his efforts have done TO her so far. The girl now feels awful about this case and the publicity Newdow has generated.

No, he is obsessed with his legal work, not with the welfare of his daughter. If she asked him to stop, to drop the cases, would he? I doubt it, but it would be interesting to find out what he would do.

The motivation that drives this loon is NOT concern for his daughter.

Watch out, his efforts are not confined to "improving" his daughter's life.

He wants to change the English language too.

SACRAMENTO, June 27 — There is so much about society that Mike Newdow would like to change.

He does not understand, for example, why the English language allows itself anything so cumbersome and awkward as masculine and feminine pronouns. The Mike Newdow dictionary would replace "he" and "she" with "re," "his" and "hers" with "rees" and "him" and "her" with "erm."

"Come on, try it out," he says. " `Re went to the store.' It's easy."

Proof positive that this "loon", as you say, has way too much time on his hands.

Can you get it any more BACKWARD than you're getting it? He doesn't give Hitlery Clinton's left testicle about that little girl, he's an Atheist ACTIVIST who is educated well enough to know where the most leftist courts are located!

His wife moved 3000 miles to get away from his crazed stalking, smack into the middle of 9th Circuit Court teritory, and Newdow saw that as Happy Birthday & Merry Christmas all rolled into one...She gave him the excuse to move to where he could REALLY put forth his Atheist agenda to strike God out of society and her daughter could be his pawn!

You see, every leftist cause pretty much has a "superstar" of an activist spokesperson...Someone ultra-famous for shooting off their mouth. Jesse Jackson & Al Sharpton for the African American movement, Martin Sheen for environmentalist wacko movements, Ed Asner for anti-American involvement in war movements, Woody Harrelson for marajuana legalization...Since the disappearance of Madelyn Murray O'Haire, Atheism has been silenced & Newdow sees the chance to become famous as the lead spokesman for that cause, plain & simple!

He fathered a little girl in a one night stand and now, for fame, fortune, and perceived power, he's forevermore a stalker of her and her mother to further his anti-God agendas.

Glory, he strikes me as the type who probably would have been off the hook completely for child support if he'd just kept his big mouth shut and minded his bizwacks, but nooooooooo, he couldn't do that & became a stalking pain in the butt to her mother.

Some people just don't know when to stop pulling the trigger with the gun still in its holster.

**Sounds like he is making his own bed here and it has hospital corners. **

Doncha just hate making hospital corners on your bed? I sure do. Mine don't allow for a quarter to bounce but I think they're fairly straight. oh...that's probably not what you were meaning, huh? LOL

Time-out Harbor...Newdow is the girl's father as a result of a SPERM BANK DONATION??? I was under the impression it was a one-night stand. THIS is even BETTER!!! The dork never got intimate with more than his HAND and he's a "loving father" bending over backwards to do for his little girl (as le goof Flyervet puts it)???

As sperm bank cases go, had he done as advised and kept his trap shut instead of running to stalk the woman who took his "donation" like some idiot, he WOULD be off the hook for liability instead of pissing her off into a corner & getting child support branded into his butt.

Seems to me that if you don't know when to give it up, you're gonna get burned and have nobody to blame for it but yourself.

That's a quote from the Court's ruling. IOW, the Court is representing that Newdow claimed the little girl was injured by listening to the Pledge being recited. The Court even seems to be quoting from Newdow's pleading.

If the Court misrepresented this issue, then you'd expect to hear Newdow jumping all over it. Instead, all he's said is that he doesn't think he made that claim.

But since, without that claim, his case becomes much weaker, he's not about to rock the boat.

Surely, one of FR's legal eagles can dig up Newdow's pleadings from one of those legal search sites. One_, how about it?
