pj, thank you. i drink fresh squeezed orange juice nearly every day.

prempro is a hormone replacement therapy for menopausal women. have you heard about the recent study that proves that taking them causes increases in breast and ovarian cancer, increases in heart disease, etc.? it's been recommended now that women who have been taking them stop immediately. this after years of being told how the pros far outweighed the cons.

I am going to the store tonight, and the first thing I am buying is ASPIRIN!

While you're at the store pick up some oranges and read my post about citrus (Vitamin C) and heart disease.

AT THE FIRST SYMPTOM OF A HEART ATTACK, SWALLOW ONE WHOLE GENUINE ASPIRIN!!!

amen to that I inform all paramedics bringing patients to my er to give them 4 baby aspirin (1 whole is fine but baby aspirin is absorbed a little quicker) it really does make a difference also for people with a history of heart disease even if you take 1 aspirin a week it can be life saving. aspirin lives in your system for the life of the platelet

That form is set up so you can fill it out in Microsoft Wrod. Makes it very easy to read in an emergency.

I pretty much stay away from ALL artificial drugs (except for aspirin). Viagra was supposed to be safe but soon after it came out on the market, John Derek keeled over from a heart attack. I could have seen that happen since Viagra does increase blood pressure. Can't say that I feel too sorry for Derek seeing as how he was married to Ursula Andress, Linda Evans, and Bo Derek so he must have had a happy time.

As the web page I linked to stated, citrus will prevent heart disease at least 75% of the time. As a matter of fact, arterial plaque is the body's reaction to a lack of vitamin C. When proper vitamin C is in the body, the plaque doesn't develop in the arteries.

What do you think about taking aspirin every day or two in order to PREVENT a heart attack?

I very often have fresh squeezed orange juice. I try to keep it in the refrigerator, although there are times when fresh juice oranges are not available. Then I buy the stuff in the carton and drink that.

Yeah, Zamflax kills off a lot of the brain cells so that explains the tendency to vote the straight Demmycrat ticket. BTW, if you watch those drug commercials, I'm not exagerrating those warnings by much. I find those quick hushed voice warnings VERY frightening.

well it would depend on your age and risk factors if your 30 and every one in your family lived to be 95 then you might want to weigh the risk's of gi bleeding etc but if you have a family history of coronary disease especially if it it is early onset then knock yourself out, 2 325 mg aspirin a week most likely will not hurt you at all and ver well may save your life if you already have had an mi though I would recommend plavix (great drug)

What if I have a stomach that's like it's made out of cast iron which mine is. I mean I've eaten red hot chiles raw without feeling it. So if aspirin prevents heart attacks, why not take it? My stomach can handle it.

The electricity went out in my place for almost an hour and while away from the 'puter I had that near life experience.

LOL....I think that's happened to me before too.

Viagra was supposed to be safe but soon after it came out on the market, John Derek keeled over from a heart attack.

Huh. I hadn't thought about that before............

Yeah but what are the side effects? I'm very suspicious of all these drugs. There always seems to be an unknown downside somewhere down the road.

that does not really mean anything aspirin is quite a powerful anticoagulant and just beacause you can eat nails doesnt mean you cant develop an ulcer but if you are healthy and dont have any bleeding disorders I would suspect you would be fine do you have heart disease or a significant family history

Not much history of heart disease in the family but since I am a hypochondriac, I am always looking to prevent any possibilities. BTW, South American Indians in the Amazonian jungles have all sorts of cures and preventitives that they have naturally developed from plants over the course of thousands of years. It would be interesting to see what they recommend to prevent heart disease. I also wonder if they have something that has the same effect as Prempro without all those nasty side effects.

Wow, what an amazing story and I'm so glad that you are here to tell it. I don't know how I missed the earlier thread. God surely had His hand on you and it's a good thing cause your work here ain't done yet. Take care.
