Selected by whom? You imply it was by the Republican Congress. Shall we now blame all the failings of the Republicans during the 90s on Clinton as well?
I blame the Republican Senators, who did nothing to hold Klinton accountable for his actions of perjury....the House did their job. As far as the corporate mishandling.....well, I'm sorry, but if it's obvious that the Klintons could do anything they wanted and get away with it (Travelgate, rape, Whitewater, etc.), why should anyone else have worried about their behavior or ethics? The Republican Senators are/were no prize. "Hear no evil, see no evil, speak no evil." They relinquished their duties to the American people. I will never forget their most grave inaction and what the ramifications continue to be.
