Federal prosecutors seek prison sentence for Ohio congressman

CLEVELAND (AP) - Prosecutors are asking that Rep. James A. Traficant Jr. get at least 7 years in prison for corruption, arguing his crimes could undermine Americans' faith in their government when it is needed most.
Traficant, a Democrat running for re-election as an independent, is set for sentencing July 30 and could get up to 63 years. The congressman was found guilty of payoffs from businessmen and his own staff.

Traficant is just a traditional small-time crook. Personally, I would let him off with probation, on the condition that he gets an on-air job as a political commentator with one of the big networks. He is immensly entertaining.

I just meant if Trafficant is "undermining Americans faith in government" then broadcasting ANYTHING from the Senate should obviously be censored.
I can barely keep myself from screaming at the TV when I see their puffery and arrogance.
