Why not have a Muppet with leukemia, or diabetes, or asthma? These are diseases children are much more likely to have than AIDS and should be addressed far more often than AIDS. This smacks strongly of a political agenda.

Well, lets remember what precisely is going on. They are introducing that character in South Africa, not the United States. This character is being introduced in a nation where like two thirds of the population have HIV. This is an issue those kids will have to deal with, and soon. That's why I think it's legit.
