Which is coming to my state? The abolition of private property, or the author's rampant overuse of annoying and distracting capitals and quotation marks? I fear both.

Rumor has it, both!

I can't speak for you, but with regard to a principal as vital as private property, I can look past personal peeves to grasp the content of the article. The strength of this article is the number of quotes on the subject from a wide range of founders and past leaders. (I've been looking for the cite of the Brandeis quote for some time, as his name is helpful in swaying liberals.) This is a big issue, and a very useful article...

the author's rampant overuse of annoying and distracting capitals and quotation marks? How true! We loose our argument by putting both our opponents and our supporters to sleep. The left keeps it simple to hook the dumb and remind the less dumb where the ball is. Of course that depends on what the meaning of is, is.

At first I was going to say to go easy on this guy since there were a lot less capital letters used than in other posts on FR, but after reading through this excrescence I've got to say that you were too gentle. The mentality manifested throughout this screed is scarier than the actual problem of the landowners described in it. There is no way this guy has a J.D. unless he bought it from Degrees 'R Us or The Al Sharpton School of Public Rhetoric and Grandiloquence. A fairly good student, even one in junior high school, wouldn't have made such errors. The following two classes of defects demonstrate a mind that is incapable of the kind of attention to detail required to be an effective attorney:
1. Egregious misspellings, elisions, and lack of proofreading:
"reknowed", "Specificially", "outwieghs", "an! y", "theives", "Timber Theives", "...that must [something goes in here] its citizens...", "...in their Seal to make ...", "...declared in writting...", "Re-Institution", "Bolshevics", "...why can we..." [should be "why can't we"]
2. Ridiculous capitalizations without rhyme or reason (though pretty humorous):
"...abolish the Institution of Private Property...."
"...the Courts to enable the State Police to...."
"...people at the Country Store threaten...."
"...state's most prominent State Legislator."
"That County has become a Haven for Timber Theives and other offenders...."
"...even conspicuously Posted "open land"...."
"...have been saying with respect to Land."
"...the Abolition of Private Property was the key to concentrating Power."
"...that Liberty Depended upon respect for Private Property:"
"...the Abolition of Private Property Rights always begins with Land, then the Abolition is extended to property of other sorts."
"Ironically, this Abolition of Private Property Rights in Land is occuring simultaneously with the Re-Institution by the Former Soviet Union of Property Rights in Land."
"...our own Politicians to...."
"Do you know other organizations that can get involved to Defend the Basic Rights Incident to Ownership of Private Property?"
"...to any interested local, or national News Organization."
Are you able and interested in helping us here in NY preserve private property in land?
I am more interested in promoting literacy and clear thinking. Preservation of property rights would follow as a consequence. Mark should begin his own remediation by visiting the
home page of Richard Mitchell, the Underground Grammarian, and by reading
Less than Words Can Say, The Graves of Academe, The Leaning Tower of Babel, and
The Gift of Fire.
