I heard on the local news here in San Diego that the Van Dams spokesman said that the Van Dams had NOT signed a book deal and that they have NOT bought a million dollar home. And that rumors alluding to such were dishonoring the memory of Danielle.

I've said it before... I'll say it again. If Denise and party wasn't interested in DW and "not paying attention" to him, why were they discussing whether or not DW had left the bar?

I had heard that it was only $850K, not quite one million, so I guess technically, what they said could be correct. Also, they may not have signed a book deal--yet. I know I sound cynical, but I can't seem to believe anything they say.

Here's some more wild speculation with absolutely no basis on my part as to why Barb maybe hasn't testified yet.

Maybe its because the defense is saving her for near the end of this phase of the trial. Perhaps she will exercise her 5th Amendment Right against self-incrimination. This would work very well in favor of the defense.

Or perhaps she will testify that Danielle was not even at home in the early hours of February 2, 2002 because while she went upstairs, maybe it was Barbara E. who closed Danielle's door on the way to the masterbedroom for sex with Damon but she first checked and found that Danielle was not even there.
What if this was a faked kidnapping to collect insurance money that went wrong ?

It's hard to say what they were doing or did....it is not hard to imagine them doing more than smoking pot.

When Rich said he gave BVD the pot in an envelope, as opposed to a baggy, cocaine was my first thought.

DVD has put on weight since then...did he have to get clean?

Did Danielle find something in the MB she wasn't supposed to and took it and died?

Did someone give her something intentionally? (that is harder to imagine but possible)

If DW was slipped something, it would have had to be close to the time he left (12am)...Glennie said BVD was at the bar when she left at 1am...so not sure it works.(IIRC on the times)

I keep remembering one of the men in the party mentioning Brenda's car/truck being parked in a different space at the end of the evening. Did she leave for a short time and then return to Dad's? Why?

I did believe them once in awhile. I believed them when they said Danielle was missing, and that Brenda went for a girls' night out 2 weeks in a row. Um... what else...? I guess that was about it.
