A Bush Hater's Poll
Jim Robinson

Posted on 07/10/2002 11:27:06 PM PDT by Jim Robinson

This is an unofficial quick and dirty presidential poll. Apparently, there is a good sized contingent on Free Republic that believes that President Bush is:

  1. Not conservative enough
  2. Not pro-life
  3. Is a gun-grabber
  4. Is a federal power-grabber
  5. Will appoint liberal judges
  6. Is a globalist
  7. Is in it just for oil
  8. Is too soft on immigration
  9. Is too soft (or too hard) on Israel
  10. Is a crook
  11. All of the above
  12. None of the above
  13. Other (you name it)

Please list the numbers that best match the reasons you don't like Bush (or state other reasons if not on the list) and state whether you believe that President Bush should be defeated even if it means installing a Democrat in the Whitehouse.

Conversely, if you believe President Bush should be re-elected, please state why.

Please state who you would like to see win the Presidency in 2004 and whether or not you believe he/she has a chance of winning.

Thanks,
Jim

#13 add on for me too--not happy with him bloating the education system with even more $$ they don't deserve.

I understood the analogy ---I don't pardon them if they're guilty, I just like to get rid of them before they do something I don't like. But if they stay in their own place they don't bother me much.

You're probably right that the ideal Conservative can't be elected but that means you agree that Bush isn't quite the ideal Conservative. I saw him live and I still think he's mostly honest and he's very likeable but he's soft on social spending programs and other issues.

I am very proud of GWB as my President.

He is a breath of fresh air.

I trust him completely.

Hi Jim
I worked 24/7 for Bush to defeat McCain in the Primary
Theh I worked 24/7 for Bush to win the election
I knew his character was gold
I had read he hit bottom in his life, which opens door to compassion and wisdom
It was crucial we get clinton out, cause he would have ruled as our dictator behind puppet algore
When Impeachment failed to remove clinton from power, this election was our last chance
If we had not gotten Bush in, we would not have had another election
(when Bush won, slickwilly tried to slick us out of our democracy to hold on to his power, it was fearsome time)

I didn't go along with Bush's choice to not investigate and prosecute clinton's crimes
I wanted all the truth to come out
I respect his free will to do what he wants, and to resolve my frustration
I switched my focus to stopping the war on drugs
I learned more about the Libertarian Party here on FR
Their vision of freedom resonates for me
I want to get rid of income tax and stop the war on drugs
I want Harry Brown to be our next President
Love, Palo

Displeased as I am with some of GWB's decisions thus far, I will (as of now) vote for him again in 2004.

Sure, there are better people for the job - but we'll NEVER see their names on any ballot.

And, unless there is a catastrophic shift in the space/time continuum - I'll NEVER vote for a democrat as long as I live.

I imagine that he may have had very mixed emotions when he was not reelected.

My dad once said that any man who truly wanted to be President was unfit to hold the office. No one in their right mind would want the job. Clinton proved just how correct Dad was. The older I get. the more I realize how many times my dad has been right.

1, 2 & 8, plus a few other things alluded to below.

Q. Should Bush be defeated by a Democrat?

A. No, for the same reasons that socialism should not be replaced by communism.

Q. Who should win in 2004?

A. Ideally? I'm not sure any acceptable candidate will even run. I suppose I'd vote for Alan Keyes or Ron Paul -- principled, at least, even if I don't totally agree with them.

Some elaboration: I voted for Bush in 2000, knowing that he was a socialist, because the communist option -- Gore -- was simply intolerable.

However, I won't be voting for Bush in 2004, regardless of who runs against him. Why the difference? Because in 2000, I knew that Bush supported things (e.g. drug plan) which are merely unconstitutional -- an exceedance of the constitutional bounds of federal authority. I don't like that, but it's true of essentially every politician on the national scene.

Signing CFR, on the other hand, is entirely different and far worse. That legislation was not just unconstitutional, it was ANTI-constitutional. It didn't assume unwritten authority for something; instead it directly, blatantly and deliberately defied a clear *written prohibition* in the Constitution. I can rationalize federal spending on education as a concession to political realities. I refuse to rationalize outlawing free speech. Consequently, I cannot support Bush in 2004. I will hope he wins over his Dem opponent, but can't conscientiously give him my vote. If the attitude of people like me costs him the election, so be it.

Well, if forced, I'd have to say #8, but I plan to vote for him again. Also, I wish he'd be more forthright about laying responsibility for a lot of our problems right where it belongs: ON THE HEAD OF WILLIAM JEFFERSON BLYTHE CLINTON. If he won't do it himself, his surrogates should be doing it.

Some people will be against Bush because he can't make it rain in July. (pariah)

It's raining cats and dogs in his home state -- in July even. That should count for something. (Jim Robinson)

hahahahahahahaha.

United States of America's President and Armed Forces Commander In Chief, George Walker Bush, understands and practices politics in ways that have "Democrats" tearing out their hair and scraping the bottom of their barrels of envy and hatred and rage and lies in their FRuitless efforts to shake either him and/or America's faith and trust in and of him.

He is, thank God -- and will be for the next six and a half years -- my President.

Whoopee.

Most worthy of a repeat. He is a breath of fresh air after 8 years of angst and dissembling in the Clintonian civil war.

As voting for him will make virtually no difference in Nevada. I'll vote any 3rd.party in protest.

I think some people in Florida felt the same way in the last election. Every vote counts. Unfortunately, every fraudulent vote counts too. Take nothing for granted.

Never underestimate the stupidity of the Ameerican people nor the ability of the Democrats to rig an election.

as for predicting outcome of 2004 election
if it were held today Bush would win by landslide
the Dem Party is now corrupt and out of their wits
under clinton they let gangsters take over their party
when Dem voters see this they will not vote Dem either
the socialists will vote Green
and the moderates will vote for Bush (the GOP remains wholesome Party)

however these are volatile fast moving times
if the Libertarians can ever get their act together
and stop their defeatist attitude
I think they have a shot at winning
cause most people love freedom
Love, Palo

I want Harry Brown to be our next President

The fairy godmother would be a great president, too!
(not to infer that Harry Browne is in any way godly)
