Then I am sure that you can post that policy for all of us to see.

Let's correct the misunderstanding that policies are always written, they are also matters of speeches, comments, actions, and inactions.

The other day, INS Director James Ziglar said that there wouldn't be mass deportations of Illegals.

Do you think he said that with the President's approval, or is Ziglar a loose cannon?

There are those on the Left that say that Bush is being coached and led in his foreign policy by Cheney, Powell, Remsfield, etc... I suspect that you believe as I do that's not the case... That Bush is the boss, and he signs off on foreign policy.

I also believe that Bush is the boss on domestic policy, and that James Ziglar spoke with Bush's approval. There were no retractions, nor do we see Bush taking action against the great mass of Illegals in the form of deportations. A few terror suspects here, a few INS "get out of town" warning letters there, and that's about it.

That President Bush isn't especially interested in enforcing our immigration laws is really not in doubt.

This is also confirmed by his attempted Amnesty.

The INS is hiring, join up and you can see it first hand.

I could post it, but you would just say I was making it up.

I guess criminal activity is OK in your book.

I guess you mean the criminal activity of having the honor to clean toilets and pick vegetables.

If illegals are working and producing .... welcome to America!

And what about the law-abiding immigrant candidates those Illegals displace?

What kind of message does that send?

An INS spokesman said that Ziglar merely repeated what other INS commissioners, including Clinton commissioner Doris Meissner, have said in recent years. "I haven’t heard any controversy over his remarks," he said. "Commissioner Ziglar was recognizing the long-standing reality. The priorities for our 1,950 internal enforcement agents are deporting criminal aliens, combating trafficking. . . . We don’t have the resources to pull those agents away from those priorities."

Yep. We could solve the problem. We could declare martial law and use the military to round up all of the illegals and then hope that martial law does not include us OR we face reality and set priorities. Which do you propose? Especially after stating the following

Thank you. There are 2000 Special Agents in the INS, and anywhere from 8 million to 11 million illegal aliens in the country.

In the past 8 months the INS has issued an average of 10,000 deportation orders each month. The majority of the aliens in those orders are already in custody and will be shipped out of the country, but we all know some are not in custody and the INS does not have the resources to track them down.

We have an average of 200,000 illegal aliens coming across the borders each month and only god knows how many of the 20,000,000+ legal alien visitors we get each month, don’t plan on leaving the county.

If we could shut down illegal immigration and each agent apprehended 1 alien each week, it would take over 76 years to apprehend them all.

As you can see, the INS is understaffed for the task at hand. See my profile page for some more numbers.

It would appear that you are using the old saw of being understaffed and under funded as a reason for the lack of effectiveness of your bureaucracy

Wobbler.

On too many important issues, GWB took a strong stand, then caved, wobbled, gave in.

I remember with Clinton that every once in a while, he'd "do something right" and I'd think, ok, maybe he's not so bad after all. Then another scandal or corruption would erupt.

GWB is doing similar -- Pickering, Israel, Open Borders, Amnesty for Illegals, etc., and most recent, ICC cave-in.

GWB makes a good strong speech then turns around and pushes or caves on another major issue. It seems his backbone doesn't support his mouth (speech). Sometimes he talks tough, backs down.

Of course, the Demo nominee for 2004 will remind the public of each and every wobble. GWB is a nice guy and he comes across to the public as a nice guy, but the Nation needs and wants a strong leader (after 8 years of Clinton crime and corruption). GWB's talk measures up; GWB's walk doesn't.

I cleaned toilets and pick vegetables when I was growing up, and I did not have to break any laws to do it.

No, if you post it then I will concede. All I ask is a cite of the regulation and or policy statement that can be verified.

Yup, you got it. If the most conservative hard-line republican alive today was running for President, he'd probably get creamed. The people are not ready for it. And I doubt that there are millions of Republican voters sitting on their hands because Bush is not conservative enough. Not enough to offset the swing voters who will go for the Democrat if they see a "right-winger" on the Republican ticket. Best to hold the Whitehouse, retake the Senate so we can control the agenda and perhaps get some judges confirmed, build the majority in Congjress, and start whittling away at it.

I have quite a list of the voter fraud committed in 2000, but even discounting 2 million fraudulent votes and 11 million illegals in the 287 million population, I still say there was a lot of voting percentage wise in an election in which many people felt neither candidate was a "winner."

Ok. No surprise here. I didn't think you would.

Jim I'm still confused because you haven't answered my first question yet.

What didn't you think that I would or wouldn't do?

If you went the route of just rounding them up, it would take about 76 years. Try not to take the post out of the context that it was written in.

If Bush and Ziglar would let the INS enforce the laws on the books, and stop giving benefits to illegal aliens (that citizens can't get), the illegal problem would be under control in a few years.

They should have closed the nuclear plants down in the first place. Nevada doesn't have any nuclear plants....they learned their lesson well after so much death and suffering from the bomb testing. Now its being forced on us by the rest of you. We don't want it. You find a way to deal with what you have created. And yes, I voted for Bush and in fact did some work for him. I managed to scare up a few votes for him! :0) PS. We will fight to the end. We'll find a way to block that stuff from coming our way or we'll die trying.

I am sure you didn't, but I don't see masses of American teenagers running to pick vegetables or clean the toilets at Marriott's across the country either these days.

if we need more people then increase LEGAL immigration.

Does anyone know what happened to the guest worker program proposal? Did it get lost after 9/11, or is it still alive and wheezing out there somewhere?

If you don't work for the INS, how can you verify what I write.

I could hold the policy in my hand, type it word for word, and you would never be able too verify it, because you don't work for the INS.

You can take my word for it, or believe that I'm lying.
