A Bush Hater's Poll
Jim Robinson
Posted on 07/10/2002 11:27:06 PM PDT by Jim Robinson
This is an unofficial quick and dirty presidential poll. Apparently, there is a good sized contingent on Free Republic that believes that President Bush is:
- Not conservative enough
- Not pro-life
- Is a gun-grabber
- Is a federal power-grabber
- Will appoint liberal judges
- Is a globalist
- Is in it just for oil
- Is too soft on immigration
- Is too soft (or too hard) on Israel
- Is a crook
- All of the above
- None of the above
- Other (you name it)
Please list the numbers that best match the reasons you don't like Bush (or state other reasons if not on the list) and state whether you believe that President Bush should be defeated even if it means installing a Democrat in the Whitehouse.
Conversely, if you believe President Bush should be re-elected, please state why.
Please state who you would like to see win the Presidency in 2004 and whether or not you believe he/she has a chance of winning.
Thanks,
Jim

The question is, if the DNC manages to turn America into the socialist column, what will we do?
Frankly, I think it would be time for Civil War 2.

"So you can't back up your challenge . Why am I not surprised?"
Oh, you just opened your mouth too wide. What has he done about illegal immigrants besides try to get them legalized? When Fox of Mexico all but said the Mexicans would take over the US, what did Bush say? What action has he taken to protect the borders not only from illegal immigrants but terrorists as well? Want more? Just address what I have said so far, and I think that you will get your answer.

"Well, get more of the Demos out of the Congress and maybe we'll stand some chance. Will be mighty bleak for conservatives as long as they are controlling the agenda (IMHO)." Let's say the Senate goes 50/50, and the House stays in GOP hands. Is that the death of Big Government? Or will we be asked to keep marching leftward, to keep someone from flipping a la Jeffords? Be asked to 'steal issues' for the always present upcoming election cycle? If the GOP won't vote for my family, I won't vote for them.

There were 12 original candidates, maybe 8, that started out and Bush beat all of them. Just exactly how is it that the "GOP" is forcing anyone on the people? Honestly? IMO the American people are getting what we deserve. And I am no better than the rest. I continue to vote for main stream GOP candidates long after the party has abandoned everything I believe in. We are all pretty stupid in my estimation.

I saw your post on another thread listing all of the border interdictions and enforcement actions. They were impressive. Now you are saying that Bush is blocking your efforts,. I am having trouble following your reasoning here.
To: Marine Inspector
the INS will not go round up the 8 to 11 million illegals in the US and he is still in charge. Do you have an extra $50 Billion around to round up people who the great majority just want to make a better life for themselves by working hard at menial jobs?
Wow you probably wouldn't be here if Teddy Rooselvelt did the same thing in 1904.

You can't provide it but what else is new?

I am having trouble following your reasoning here. The really impressive part in the fact that those numbers are that high, while the Commissioner , the Congress and the White House are opposing us at every step.
Cut out the opposition, and those numbers would skyrocket.

"What do you honestly think of Bush? Do you truly think I am full of beans on 1 through 6 and #8 ??" Well, my guy doesn't stand a chance, so I'm not going to worry about that. I'll take Bush in a heartbeat over anyone the Democrats can put up. And there is absolutely zero chance of any third party taking the presidency in 2004 (and probably slim chance they'll even pull one percent) so I'm bot going to worry too much about that. I'm for smaller government (I know we'll never get back to what the founders intended) but I will take any smaller government that anyone can give us, less taxes, let the states control crime, abortion, drugs, welfare, healthcare, education, etc. I support the Constitution and the Bill of Rights and our national sovereignty. I know that I will never get what I want, but I definitely do not want to give the other guys (the Dems) what they want either. I'll take Bush even if he's not my perfect choice. That's my opinion.

Well, that is the job of the INS. Would you like it better if they passed out roses to all of the illegals coming across in hordes?

I wanna automated scientific wild-donkey guess poll.
To: Jim Robinson
I don't hate Bush because I realize the futility of expectations. To me Dems and Repubs are opposing teams playing the same game, and the rules don't respect the Constitution. Pessimism tells me this will not change, and I can never hope to see the three branches functioning as intended in my lifetime. Even if my vote could secure the executive branch, congress and the judiciary would prevent Constitutional law.

Texas, you just cannot grasp the fact that you cannot depend upon what a politician tells you. I pay absolutely no attention to words. I look at what a politician does. That is how you judge a politician. Once again, my question is.......you know it.
To: Jim Robinson
When his terms are over, we will all miss GWB. A lot of what we remember about Reagan is that he wasn`t Jimma--Gwb gets the same kind of credit, he`s not Bubba. Wde all have to get back to the real world, and that`s what I love about our poll. If the country suddenly faced a new threat, war in Korea lets say, who do you want to lead us? GWB would win that one hands down!

Ok, Texas, you can think about it for awhile. I am going to bed. Nite, all.

. We have the option to extend the period of immunity if the dispute is not resolved in our favor. And if they say the dreaded word... "no"... ???
We really stepped in a tar pit with this UN peace keeping stuff.

Like I said before do you have an $50 billion or so to round up people who the great majority of them are hard working and performing jobs that Americans refuse to do?
